Post what tools you're using so we can compare!!!!

What tools are you using?
What translation do you guys believe is the most relevant to life today?
Which one is your favorite and why?

Post what you learn every day so we can keep each other accountable, and possibly learn from each other and share some laughs

I like the contemporary one I have. It's not in front of me though. It's at home. I was halfway through reading mine and then fell off. I was following this chart. You skip around, but somehow the story all fit! It was a good read!

there are yearly plans that you can use ...but you will also need to do additional reading as scriputes are meant to be re-read, re-read and meditated on ...

research the best version that doesn't take away from the KJV, many are easy to read but important words are often lost in translation ...

Amplified, Paralell, ESV (to name a few are good ones)...with the paralell bible on the left is KJV and the right is Amplified, I particulary like this one so that I can compare to KJV and there is also Life Application Study bible which gives you more history on the subject matter.

There are some great online study tools that you may find useful like e-sword, biblos, blueletter bible, bible gateway and there are tons of apps for your phone, tablet, ipod etc.,

I'm currently on a one year reading program using the New Living Translation. I started off with the Common English however the translation was so regular/off (for lack of a better term) from the Kings James version that the meaning was lost. I find the NL translation to be easy to read, understand and excellent in helping me to apply the Word to my daily life.

I just started from Genesis and begun reading it.

I'm reading the KJV version, but also I have the audio book app on my phone. So while I'm at work, I can get in a few chapters while I work.

I think next year, I'll do one of the bible reading plans

This has been a goal of mines also. I started a while ago reading the NIV version. I'm up to 1st Chronicles:4

Why don't you try a One Year Bible?

I'm currently reading through the Chronological One Year Bible...I HIGHLY recommend it!!!
The version used is NLT (very easy to understand) and it takes about 15 minutes a day.

There are 2 different types...

The One Year Bible daily reading plan consist of passages from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. This arrangement of Scripture brings variety and a fresh approach to each day's 15-minute reading, while providing a clear understanding of the Bible's larger message. No other "through the bible" plan presents the entire bible in such a user-friendly format. Simply select the month and date to link to the passages for the day.

The One Year Chronological Bible reading plan contains the entire text of the bible arranged in the order the events actually occurred. This unique viewpoint allows you to read the whole Bible as a single story and to see the unfolding of God's plan in history.
