what's the difference between blowdrying with a hand dryer and sitting under the dryer? which one is better? I have a problem with blowdrying my hair, I read on the forum that alot of you ladies don't use heat on your hair. I'm a heat freak and thats the only thing that makes my hair lay the right way.

Blowdrying is WAY more damaging than sitting under the dryer. I choose to air dry my hair in a loose ponytail and it lays down just fine. I havent touched a blow dryers in years. I have a hooded dryer too but I hate sitting under it..

Also sometimes you dont necessarily need heat to get your hair to lay right, certain products can help too. But excessive heat will be damaging to your hair in the long run. I suggest you try to cut back...it can be done!

with a hand-held blowdryer you can create "hot spots" thus causing damage. keep the dryer moving, dry in small sections, and use a heat protectant-i.e. silken seal.

with a helmet dryer the heat is distributed evenly.
