9/26/14 EDIT:
I went to the salon 4 times between April - Sept and now my ends have heat damage. I am not blaming the stylist because she did what she needed to do to get my hair done. I blame MYSELF because I should have known better. I normally go to the salon 1 or 2 times a year and never ever allow so much heat on my hair. Lesson learned! My hair is long enough that 1 or 2 inches really won't affect me much, but this is a reminder as to why my ends used to look jacked up back in the day when I used to be at the salon every Saturday morning, 52 weeks out of the year. I'll be DC'ing and taking better care of my hair from this point forward.
Today was a nice day so I decided to take a walk down the South End in Boston. I came across a salon called Blo Dry Bar and it caught my curiosity. I've heard about dry bars, but have never been to one. Now I would never go to a salon without a recommendation, let alone a "quick service" salon like this one because I don't know if they can do my type of hair, but I decided to walk in anyway and look around.
The receptionist was very nice and she said that yes they do kinky/curly hair. I took a chance and booked an appointment. Here are some pictures of the place (very pretty) and a picture of my curls before I got my hair did. Mind you, I just wet my hair this morning and didn't even detangle LOL
