Black Hair Care Section

After reading the Dr. Glover's thread, I was wondering what, if any, products do you all buy from the black hair section (or "ethnic" section) of the drug or grocery store?

I will always love Kemi Oyl, and that's where I find my cocoa butter stick, but that's about it.

I'm not talking about Salon or Beauty Supply store products.

Zip. Nada. Zilch. Zero. Nothing. :nono:

It amuses me, I must note, when women (usually non-black) see me buying Herbal Essence and the ethnic section is behind me and they make faces; looking from me, to the ethnic products, to the Herbal Essence, back to me and then to their cart with the same Herbal Essence products.:lachen:

I could imagine what they are thinking, but then, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and think the best of them possible. :yep:

Until they show me otherwise. :look:

Nothing that stuff sometimes make matters worse. To the indian, African and middle eastern stores I go

Amla is my friend

Castor oil (does that count?)
Better Braids Unbraid Spray
Fantasia IC Tea Tree Shampoo (for when I'm in braids)

On another note, it upsets me how they classify the products in the BSS. The other day, I went to the BSS to get castor oil & Jane Carter Solution Hair Nourishing Cream. On the receipt, the castor oil was labeled as "ethnic" and the cream was labeled as "salon."

Sometimes I will see a relaxer kit that I can use. But I always scares it will be old and crusty.

I never like any of that mess.

Some used to carry CON shampoo that I would buy for my son. But other than that - nothing.

It is like they carry a fw products because they feel obligated to.

Thanks everyone for the replies so far. I forgot to add that I buy Fantasia Gel with Sparklelites. Love that stuff!

Processing caps, combs, and that's about it, lately walmart has been slackin in that department especially in SC, but I guess since we got so many BSS, all the products go there......

it used to be braid spray & wave nouveau products, but now its nothing. i buy products (conditioners, leave-ins etc) based on the natural, botanical ingredients ( & preferably sls & paraben free) not based on what section its marketed towards. my other favorite option is to just make my own:)
