OMG, I just saw that Brittany updated her channel with an Oct update. Crazy results. Her results as she grew out her damaged hair with BKT really inspired me to take a closer look. I'm going to post her progression over the last 10 months. While your there, check out her BKT 5 and 6 application vids :yep:.

It's great to see progress documented so well. She's certainly no slouch when it comes to her fotki. Thanks sheba1 for posting this!

Hot dog, Blessed2bless! Thanks!! I'm going to go check those out. :yep:

Yeah, I wish we heard from her more, also. I think she still does regular check-ins but is probably tired of discussing BKT openly. I definitely can't blame her for that.

THIS IS GREAT..
I CAN'T FIND OTHER PERSON LISTED BUT THIS IS GREAT
I will post Southerntease's link here, MochaWisdom.

I cant use this treatment... I was told that it would not remove all of my curls and after the 3 days I had to wait, I washed my hair and my hair was BONE STRAIGHT. I was DEVASTATED and cried and cried and went to the salon and went OFF on the stylist because I ASKED MANY MANY times BEFORE it was even applied how it was going to affect my curls. I got all of my money back and then I called the company... They said to wash with clarifying shampoo DAILY WTF? I told them I would have straw for hair IF it did revert back... The company SAID that since it wasnt a chemical that it definately will revert back and for the most part, it has EXCEPT for the last few inches which has to be CUT off... smh NEVER AGAIN... I love my curls and I know there are Keratin treatments that are out there that dont require heat and dont comprimise the curl pattern. Those are the ones for me.

Did you do any research at all? ALL KERATIN treatment require excessive heat. That is why some have reversion problems. I believe you can use protein to see if your curls will come back if, not you have to wait until your hair grows out.

You can try Mizani Thermasmooth to get straight hair that reverts after your first wash.

I hope they came back. Check with the BKT support thread. Good luck! Hugs =)

And what keratin treatments are those?

What was your goal in getting BKT?

I'm not sure if you did any research before getting one. If not, check out the mega-long BKT threads here. There is a *lot* of information available.

Are you natural or texlaxed? I was texlaxed when I applied my first BKT and it left my hair BONE straight. At the time that's what I wanted. Now I haven't used a relaxer in a year and a half. So when I apply a BKT now, I have very loose curls except for my crown. My crown texture is 3C and it leaves that area pretty straight.

There is a lot of information out there. And to be honest, without knowing the full story, your results really don't sound unusual at all.

No, Im am all natural between 3A-3C, depending on the section of the head. I havent had a relaxer in my hair since January 2006. If your 3C hair gets pretty straightened, maybe thats why my entire head got straightened.....

I have to look at the keratin treatment I have at home, its not exactly the same but my hair feels silky afterwards and I still have all my curls. I got it from sallys. There are also a lot of products being made in them and from now on I will try them before I do another BKT

I had SEVERE breakage from letting a fellow student bleach and then tone my hair with 30 vol developer :nono: ( I thought she was using 10 vol, believe me, it makes a difference) my hair was breaking off left and right my bangs went from my chin to about MAYBE an inch and a half. When I did the research and found out what the purpose was and the stylist ASSURED me that my curls would snap back, not as tight as before but gradually as the treatment "wore off", my natural curls would return. She even showed me photos of treatments that she had given, in her defense, and looking back, the wemen did have a tighter curl than me so that may have been a factor... idk

Im ok, I'll take a look at it but most of its gone... I dont doubt that it works and works WONDERS for the people on that thread but I am through with it... I couldnt bear to see my curls gone again.... I KNOW I would have retained more length this past year if I didnt have these straight ends and had to constantly make sure my hair was straight... I appreciate it though and now I know where to direct anyone in the future..

I did do research, in the SALONS,actually a lot of research, there was a lapse in time, about 8 months I think where I wasnt even on LHCF and didnt even think to look on here. Had I done that, maybe I would have saved myself some grief. I first was introduced to the treatment from the New Beauty magazine and I approached my instructors at my cosmetology school. I went to several salons to inquire about thier technique and ask about before and after photos. My teachers told me to be careful because some have been known to straighten the curl instead of just controlling the frizz and protecting the hair shaft....This all happened Feb 2010 so, a year ago and most of my hair has returned to its previous curly state... There are only a few inches at the ends which I plan on trimming as they grow out so by the time I am WL I dont have to cut inches off, just trim if necessary.

I appreciate all of your input... its good to know that it works for most...
