Best Products to Combat Humidity?

I live in hot and humid Houston and was wondering if there are any products that help retain my style and combat frizz? I have tried styling especially early in the morning and after a few minutes in the humidity my hair is poofy. The only way I can wear my hair is in a bun or wear extensions. It drives me crazy since some of my half wigs are shorter than my real hair.

I would like to find a product that can keep my hair styled without being hard. I am considering trying a roller set but with my thick hair it usually ends up looking like an afro lol. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
