Best Flat Iron???

Hi ladies,
I am ready to buy a high end flat iron. I want the best one. I was orginally going to get the CHI flat iron. But now I see the ladies talking about a FHI and a T3 ...and I dont know which one to buy. Can you ladies help me out???-Melissa
 
T3 all the way. I've had a total of 8 flat irons (including the T3). I just gave away the other 7. Some were very expensive and some not.

I can't say enough how healthy this iron leaves my hair- even my ends. Not to mention that even with 90 per cent humidity, the hair STILL looked smooth. Of course, I use a heat protectant still...

It was SO worth the $$ I spent. It also has a four year guarantee.

PS: This is NOT the wet-to-dry.s

Aileendy What size do you have? Where did you get it? What else do you like about the T3 compared to the FHI?

Thats a great idea can we have comparisions of the top flat irons. Can we have the pros and cons of each.
 
I have a maxiglide my hubby brot me, but my hair is too short to use it. :o Please tell me more about the T3 iron.
 
I've heard really good things about the Sedu and maxiglide flat irons. I'm leaning towards the maxiglide myself because the tempature control is in numerical range(1-10) and the Sedu is in degrees.
 
I use the Hai flat iron. That is what was used in my touch up pics in my album. Hopefully I'll be able to update my album tomorrow to show you more pics. I love my flat iron. I am curious about the Chi, but this gets the job done w/out snagging my hair and it gets it very silky. I'll show you how straight my roots can get w/ it.
 
Last night I bit the bullet and brought the T3 1-inch Tourmaline Ionic flat iron at Overstock.com. It was 109.99 plus 1.00 for shipping and handling. They also had others flat iron at discounted prices. I was excited to get the T3 at 49.00 dollars off of the regular price of 160.00.
 
The miniglide did not work and it caused my hair to burn off. There is no heat control dial like the maxiglide has. Don't buy this or you'll be sorry. Afrodite, let me know how yr t3 iron works. My hair won't straiten no matter what I try. It just curls back up. :ohwell: I still am trying to find the best curling iron. The only time my hair straitened was with a relaxer- and even then I had to flat iron it to get it strait. :lol:
 
YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO GET THE CHI FLAT IRON..i used it many times because i roomate had it...you can use it everyday and it wont dry out your hair or make it brittle..the heat is very high and over time (i used it for a full 3 months..) it made my hair really silky and i have that spanish wavy hair..the kind that needs god himself to straighten it and keep it that way..

mannnn im suprised my hair didnt fall out or break off..it makes your hair SOOOO GENTLE..and you dont even need oil if you dont wanna use it..


i definitely recommend it...

the miniglide scares me!!! it gets STOOPID hot and theres no temp control, its just off or blazing hot!


i do love my maxiglide though!!!!

I have a Sedu and I love it! Go to folica.com, they have before and after pictures and testimonials and it has the highest satisfaction rate of all the irons featured on there. It is completely smooth and does not snag the hair, my hair is natural and very thick, with any other iron I have to run over each section like 3-4 times and with my Sedu it only takes 1 or maybe 2. HTH!
 
Ha ...this made me even more confussed on which flat iron I should buy. There are so many choices and so many great reviews. I do have another question though. I usually have a problem of my hair staying straight and not converting back to its wavvy state. Do any of these flat irons you ladies reccomended have a tendancy to do that. So maybe I should have made the question the best flat iron for natural hair. thanks :) melissa
 
I co-sign with the CHI ceramic iron. When I went to the salon, the stylist used it and my hair was silkier than ever. It felt so silky that I went to Ulta to buy one, but when I got to the counter, it was close to $200 dollars. So I put that baby right back on the shelf...I might have to buy it soon though-I am 12 weeks post with 4a hair and my hair is a wild mess... :ohwell:
 
This is prob a dumb q, but is it possible that my hair is too short to flat iron? My hair is curled so tight, that it fights all attempts to straiten it. Do I have to wait til it's longer, then will a flat iron work? :confused: My hair Is possibly 6", but with shrinkage it looks like 3". I don't want to buy another flat iron. The solia didn't work and that is supposed to be like a sedu. The maxiglide is too big for me to use yet. I'm afraid to spend $ on another flat iron I can't use and doesn't work for me. :(

I am a serious lurker who hardly ever posts but I figured I would come out the woodwork.

Amazon is selling the T3 Tourmaline Wet-to-dry flat iron for $89.99, which is a lot but still 55% off of the retail price ($200.) When I came across it, I was kinda scared like "why is this so cheap???" but it seems to be on discount b/c it's new item for them to sell. So I figured I would pass it on.

Let me put my bid in for the T3!

It never dries my hair out. I can walk through humidity and drizzle (without a umbrella) and my hair barely budges--if at all. I paid $160 for mine at Sephora and it's was the best investment I've ever made in a tool for my hair.



I plan on purchasing the T3 blowdryer, brushes and combs when I start straightening my hair again this fall.:)
 
ok...so Im down between two choices...the t3 and the chi...now they are two different make ups...I believe the t3 is made from crushed jewels and metals and the chi is cermamic ( correct me if im wrong) ...Now whats the benifit of those two materials...which is the best as far as what they are made from??? -Melissa

The T3 consists of Tourmaline and ceramic which in turn is supposed to produce more negative ions. Negative ions provide infrared heat and seal the cuticle which will help your strands retain moisture. (When your strands are dry they will frizz up from humidity/moisture) Infrared heat penatrates the strand vs drying out the outside layer. I used the Jibere (sp?) which was metal coated with ceramic. After a while it began to fry my hair. I guess cause the coating wore off.

I personally don't know anything about the CHI. Except for the ladies on LHCF saying that it's a great iron.

Thanks acutally it helped alot...Im still confussed though :( . Did anyone try both the chi and the T3....if you did ...which one did you prefer??? One minute im leaning towards the T3 and the next im leaning towards the chi...:( ..PLEASE HELP ME MAKE A DECISION...thanks -Melissa
 
T3 ladies: does anyone have the wet to dry iron? I noticed that T3 has a few models. But the wet to dry is what's on sale on Amazon. Can anyone comment on it?

I have the t3 and I love it. It makes my hair silky, bouncy and soft. It has temp. control, unlike the chi. I suggest, that if you are not too comfy with not having heat control, go with the t3. I was too scared of the chi. I sent mine back and kept the t3. It was the best choice I ever made. I get salon results at home, something that I thought I could never, ever do. HTH

Plus Ive had trouble in the past where my hair has stayed permanantly straight from flatironning...so the T3 with temperture control would probably be best. What settings do you ladies put it on...and what hair type??? -Melissa
 
I am thinking about purchasing the T3 too. The flat-iron I have now works alright but I want something excellent and helps my hair to feels soft and hopefully silky afterward.
