You look amazing. I love your look - you hair is beautiful. People who may not like it now, will love it later. They just need some adjustment time. :yep:

Thanks so much for sharing this...your experience describes exactly how I felt when I was in between relaxers. Not really happy with the quality of my hair or the stylist who had been doing the relaxers. In between trying to find another stylist to relax my hair and trying to work with the new growth...I fell in love with the natural texture of my hair and just decided to keep going. I had made the decision to transition (pre-LHCF....didn't know that's what its called at the time). That was summer 08 and I haven't looked back.

Thanks for sharing. Your hair is beautiful. (Psst..my DH use to be the same way.)

Personally I love your hair, especially in the puff! But I must admit I love the thickness of yr brows! They are gorgeous! About two months ago I went to this Indian who does brows by the thread method, and told her I just wanted my brows cleaned up and did not want them thinned out. Well she did exactly what I asked her not to do, and I am still trying to get them back to the way they were nice and thick! Yours are absolutely stunning!!!!!!

Thanks so much. I like my eyebrows to have the dramatic look, but sometimes I wonder if I should soften them. You've helped me decide to keep bringing the brow drama.

I get threaded too. But even when I was waxed I always brought a picture with me of what I wanted my brows to look like. I would look in a magazine or bring and old picture of myself and ask the person if she thought she could do it.

In my experience, when people wax it's more hit and miss. Threaders seem to be a little more exact and I think they naturally will shape eyebrows with an angular look (which I love). Try to pick a threader after you've seen her work. You want someone that people seem to be asking for by name.

Take a picture and stop them if you feel that they are removing too much. The sooner you stop them the more likely you are to recover from their mistake. Just tell her that you're very particular about your brows and prepare her to get stopped if you don't like what you feel.

Thanks again :) And HTH.

Thanks for sharing. Your hair is beautiful. (Psst..my DH use to be the same way.)

Thanks for saying this about the DH. I talked to him tonight and he said he only looked at 1 of the 3 pictures I sent him. He said that after looking at all the pictures, he thinks it really pretty!

The others can kick rocks. Y'all made my heart feel so full!! Thanks guys.

Wow, your hair is really pretty!

Thanks! I should give details for anyone who wants to try it. My cornrows were in for about 4 weeks (like 24 braids total) and I DCed w/ heat and washed weekly.

I knew that I was going to remove them on Saturday. So, before I went to the movies that afternoon I took my pre-prepared Shea Butter mix (Shea melted w/ EVOO, avocado butter, lavender oil) and I poured some of Karen's Body Beautiful massage oil (lavender scent) in it. Then I mixed with my finger and it was really creamy. :lick:

I just put a bunch on my braids and it kept melting and melting in. So I kept applying it to condition my hair in preparation for the braid removal. So when I removed the braids it looked just like the pictures.

All I did was shake it out and pull the bang down.

GORGEOUS! loving that hair! I'm sure your DH will get over himself and truly look at the beautiful woman he has! ;)

I know exactly what you mean. :yep:

When you see it you're fascinated by how alien it is, but how much a part of you it is. It's like recognizing a long lost relative you've never met but somehow just know.

Soliel,

You look GREAT in your siggy pic...that's all.

You and your hair are gorgeous! It is a beautiful thing when we can embrace our natural beauty! Keep it up girl!!

Aww, Ocolove, I've had that moment before and I know exactly how you are feeling. Good for you...I'm so happy you are feeling good about your hair. And it is beautiful!

As for your dh...he doesn't get it and he may not ever get it, but I tell you what he will like. He will like your confidence and he will love that you feel good about yourself. Nothing is sexier than a woman who is sure of who she is.

Wear that hair, girl!
