Beauty Mistakes That Turn Men Off

I agree with most of the list.
The only thing I disagree with is the part about weave.

It depends on the guy, really. For some, it's a turn off, for others, they don't care because it's not like they're trying to get intimate with your head and if it looks good, it's not a problem.

I'd say it would be a turn off if he was trying to run his fingers through your hair and feels the tracks instead of scalp, so I'd probably tell him (maybe make some joke about it) before it gets to that point.

My SO liked my weaves because I'd change them up all the time and they looked good and some had different personalities in the br. :look:

Makes sense.

But I have to say, I have honestly never met a guy who cared THAT much that I had a weave/braids/wig. I'm sure they might prefer real hair, but it's never turned them off to the point where they didn't wanna see me anymore.

He's already touched my scalp! lol! He last commented that my head is so tiny! *sigh*

I guess we'll find out the hard way. hoping the response i get will be, 'you look pretty but you don't need that/i like you the way you are'. he has seen photos of me with long braids.

I have no problem admitting I'm wearing a weave. I've told nearly everyone I know I'm getting one. lol. I'm really excited.

Well the only the rule I have broken as per this funny list is the dark nail polish. I love it because it compliments my skin tone nicely. I havent had any complaints. On all else I'm good.

The list mainly states to me that too much of anything is bad all around. The key is moderation.

I agree with most. Not sure on a few, namely the polish color.

yeah i disagree with the nail polish color thing too. i think as long as you keep your nails looking nice, and clean (not ragged and chewed), it's fine. and different guys like different things.

I love bright lip colors and I'll be damned if I limit myself to a neutral pink color BC a guy MIGHT not like it

Celebrities stay with that type of orangey skin, fake eyelashes, loads of extensions, caked on make up, bold looks and still a large amount of guys put them on a pedlestool. Am not buying it.

There's a lid for every pot and an audience for most looks I'm finding. There's always ganna be guys who don't love a certain woman's presentation, but as long as there's enough that tolerate, or like it I see why women stay doing what they want.

I didn't always feel like this, :look: but I do now.

They forgot all of lhcf rules for getting a man: don't wear wedges, don't be bare faced, and don't lack an hour glass figure with a shelf booty.

i've never in my entire life ever heard a man talk about the color of a woman's nail polish. ever.

The list is about right. My Dh doesn't care for extensions at all. No matter how natural they look, he is just not a fan. But he doesn't mind the bold lip or nail color. I think with some men it is a give and take. Most much prefer natural and simple, but I think changing it up every now and then seems fine.

Interesting...
A lot of it makes sense...

Last night, on the dance floor, the guy I was on a date with put his hand in my hair and ruffled it:blush: I was like jeez, good thing my hair is done and soft:lol:

It isn't so much that this stuff is wrong... It's more like, what happens if it comes off unexpectedly? Like if he comments on your eyelashes being so long and seductive, and then when you finally spend the night together, and he wakes up to find the eyelashes on the pillow:blush: or a hair extension:shocked:

I disagree with the weave/hair stuffs and nails. Everything else is on point.

My guy knows I wear extensions. He always compliments my hair lol. He says he doesn't mind at all and it looks very natural. Honestly, he wouldve never known if I hadn't told him

He also loves my nails and I've had them painted every color under the sun. He actually likes them even more when I do designs and stuff. I'm very artistic and he says it shows when I do my nails lol. I don't wear fake nails (I like acrylics, but I like changing my polish on my own for cheap soooooo yah lol) and anytime I freshly do them he always notices, inspects, and compliments :)

I have. Have heard one say that black nail polish often goes with a dark or not so nice personality.

but i say wear what you want, there's a guy who likes it.

see, this!! :) i'm creative as well and i like painting polka dots or ombre on my nails when i have the time to make it look nice. i don't think it's a turn off. it's showing your personality! i think guys like stuff like that.

lists like this bother me because they're not just suggestions, it's like they're telling you how to look and dress. no one guy likes the same "type" of appearance.

My guy has. He loves my feet and tells me when he does or doesn't like the polish I have on.

LOL. This sole purpose of this article is to advertise for those products. I mean, does anyone like yellow teeth and dry skin?

that nail thing is a mess. I can remember one particular time i was hanging with some friends and my nails were blue with bunnies on them :look: but i got compliments all around from my male friend, he just kept saying he liked it and how creative it was.

Funny enough Nail polish is one of my DH's biggest pet peeves with me as far as style. He really hates when I wear it. He thinks nail polish is tacky for some reason. I know if I wear it not to even ask if he likes it because the answer will be no.

Men are all different so not all are going to be turned on by the same things.

I think guys don't like the idea of extensions... My ex would say he prefers it when I wear my natural hair out rather than weaving it up all the time, but when it was weaves up, it's not like he tried to get in my pants any less  :perplexed

I actually don't wear much lip color, but I've heard guys comment on both really bright and really dark lip color. I mean who would want to kiss some really black lips? At least bright comes across as fun and flirty.

This is the first weave I've worn in years and I've been getting much more attention across all races. These same men complaining probably have stacks and stacks of booty mags with "Vixens" weaved down to the ankles. A good looking woman is a good looking woman no matter what. Do what makes you comfortable, confidence and a good personality overrides many other flaws.

I don't know...Articles like these, to me, send the message that women need to once again center their looks around what men want as opposed to what they're comfortable in.

Different men like/hate different things. PERIOD. There are no rules when it comes to looks because there is someone out here for everyone.

From my observation, men like women who are comfortable in their own skin regardless of if it's adorned with bright lipstick, lashes, or feather extensions.

Thank You...And if you don't like what I do it's quite simple...keep it moving and find someone that does what you like. I do me. Hair, nail polish, etc is the least we need to be concerned abt in relationships anyway.

The men Ive dated in the past and a lot of my male friends say if a woman has a weave they act like it doesnt matter, but in reality they LOVEEEEE women with real hair, especially when its long, they go ga-gah.
So, I agree with that part of the list, no matter how good it looks the majority of men do not like fake hair, if they say they dont mind it...chances are they are just trying to spare feelings.
