Bangs Hair Breakage

Really hating my natural hair right now matter how much I deep condition or keep my hair moistured my fringe won't grow in 10 months it has grown 0.5cm. The rest of it though grows fine. I braid every night to avoid tangles and like I said everywhere grows fine except my fringe . I tried pinappling like people suggested but still my hair tangles. It's like my new growth shrinks like the way it does when it needs relaxing, yet I am natural.

My hair grew better when I never took care of it and was when I was relaxed, bowdrying, flat ironing 3-4 times a week and never deep conditioned ever.

I was thinking about posting this same thing. The rest of my hair grows like a weed but my bang area/front perimeter will not grow no matter what I do. Its been sitting at nose length for like two years. :(

I know why the hell is that lol? I know this area is a completely different texture to the back, the back is softer & looser where as the front is frizzy & hard. I even have to give this area so much more moisture and next minute it is dry again, maybe that's the reason it's not growing. I dunno am puzzled.

Thank you for your reply

My bangs don't retain length like the rest of my hair either. I haven't figured out what the problem is. I'm natural, but it was the same when I was relaxed. Years ago, when I was relaxed I started going to a new stylist. I asked her what to do to get my bangs to grow. She said, well you need to stop cutting them. I said that I didn't cut them. She said, "So you're telling me they just broke off into a style?" I said, "Yesssssssss!!!!!!!" :cry3:

What dc are you using. You may need protien on that bit of hair before doing the moisturising dc.

I went through a very dry hair phase and contacted the Komaza specialist. She said I probably need protien so that I can retain moisture. I didn't even know what that meant, but I used my aphoghee 2 minute reconstructer before my dc and it worked :)

Also it sounds like your bangs may be high porosity. In that case its better to dry the hair somewhat (towel) before applying your dc and moisturiser to that section. Products that are lotion like probably won't work. At least not in their own. Better to go with heavier, buttery creams, then seal with oil/hairdress.

Hey @Sumra thanks funny you mention that because I've just recently started using Aphogee 2 minute & have noticed a difference already. Have used it 3 times now and my bang area seems to like it and respond to moisture now.

I was using either Giovanni SAS or Audrey's GPB.

Ps I am currently using As I am co wash and my dryness issues are being resolved.

Yes. Sounds like yall have different porosity levels between bangs and the rest. So do I but mine is kind of the opposite where my bangs and nape are normal porosity but everything else is high. My crown and back just snap snap snap snap off.

I keep those areas extra moisturized. I also seek and destroy splits and ssk often in the hi po area which seems to be the best tactic at long term retention of my high porosity areas. Otherwise it seems to stay tje same length for years on end.
