*****Back in the Salon after 2.5 Years- Hair porn alert*****

Thank you beautiful ladies, couldn’t have done it without you....

I really don't have a special regimen though L
I’ll try to answer your questions from this thread and the PMs in this post.

Hair bio:
Natural until 1988
Last touch up in 1994
Pressing, curling consistently until 2004
Dominican blowouts 2004-2006
No heat from 2006- June 2009

Texture:
Fine strands
Type 4
I say medium density but feels like ‘hella hair’

Pre-2009:
In 06-07 and parts of 08, I followed a strict hair regimen. I pre-pooed with Almla oil (dark green-since 2006 I used), co-washed (I don't use shampoo) and DC'ed every weekend. I used to baggy, seal, you name it, I did it and it worked.
Moved to ayurvedic powders but didn’t stick with it for longer than 2 months.
I don't experiment much with products, I tend to stick with what works.

NOW:
No vitamins
I haven’t finished my first bottle of MT purchased last year in October, but I plan to finish it and start my BEEMINE serum for no other reason other than ‘hey, I bought it.’
Recently started Roux Porosity Control
I started working out in March.
I try to eat clean but slip up on occasion.
I haven't used most of the DCs I bought more than once except for Aubrey's HSR (Camellia once) and GPB maybe twice and my Healthy Sexy Hair Pumkin Puree Masque which I might slow down on because I don't like the ingredients anymore.
I do not tie my head at night and usually fall asleep on my cotton pillow case

Key techniques:
Protective styles (twists, chunky twists, medium braids, used to do buns a few times a year last year but I can't even THINK about a bun with my new length).
My hair is rarely ‘out.’
I’ve done hard-core protein treatments twice and have only recently been using the 2mns protein and used Roux Porosity Control for a total of 3 times each.
No/Low heat.
Focus on moisture balance with the help of protein and moisturizing Dcs.
Trim once a year now semi-annually.
Stay away from salons as much as possible.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE taking care of hair.

Styles:
I posted some pictures of my boring styles a while ago.
I apply creamy products on my twists like shea butter or whatever leave-in I'm trying to get rid up. I don’t do WNGs - to scared.

Setbacks:
Occur when I go to a stylist who pulls my hair way too much. The damage may be more psychological though.
Small alopecia (?) area in the front about ¼ of a penny or less early last year.

New approach:
For this stretch to WSL, I'm hoping to use products with no parabens or silicone in them. However, I MUST use what I have before I purchase anything new, that’s my rule.
I put that baby in twists and forget about it for MONTHS!!! So much so that it matted and I spent almost all night detangling WHILE I was on vacation. Now Ii know that after 2 months I have to redo my twists.
Hope to baby my edges more.
Might create a Fotki.

I'm really aggressive with my goal and refuse to use a flat iron on my hair until I'm WSL PERIOD. I'm ambitious about my goal and I enjoy the surprises in between. I have plenty of natural styles I’d like to try.

*sings* You areee the prototype...I think i'm n Loveeeeee again...Thannnkk you Verryy mucchh!!!!

your hair is ....:notworthy:

I have no words, but everyone summed up what I want to say!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A part of my soul died a little, along with the desire to straighten this weekend.

Can you post your protective styles please? I don't care how boring they are.

Your hair looks like a lions mane. So sexy and beautiful!

It is really pretty. I tried that going to bed without a scarf (trying to look cute for the manfriend) I looked a HAM in the morning! haha

Dang girl, you really meant that porn thing huh?

Such an inspiration, your hair looks similar to mine, I Loves it!!

BRAVO! You've got IT:yep::yep::yep: You'll own waistlength in the next few months. Now I got to go change my eyes from green to brown. Your hair is amazing!!!!!
