Babying your hair

The Credit Countess
This week my hair has been really looking and feeling bad. I trimed my ends but my hair still is not right, so I have decided to treat and baby my hair tonight and tomorrow.

Tonight I am going to do a pre-poo treatment with VO5 conditioner and some oil and wrap in a wet towel and leave in over night. Tomorrow morning shampoo and deep conditioner. I think that I am going to use the rest of my DPR-11 with some oil and honey. Leave on while cleaning and then rollerset and dry. I have been airdrying my rollerset overnight but I think I am going to see how my hair likes sitting under the dryer. After drying I am going to add a little EQ oil moisturerez and very little serum ( I think)

For everyday maintance I am going to go back to my beloved WGO and oil my scalp with it and in the evening before re-rollering my hair dry I will put a little KeraCare creme dress on my hair.

I usually do a CO wash in the middle of the week and rollerset however this week I didn't and I think that my hair is mad at me :D .

What do you do to baby your hair?

I deep condition and make sure it is moisturized.

But now--during the winter--I am really making sure I do these w/ consistancy. I am also doing protective styles to baby and take care of my hair.

I'm not a pre-pooer, but when babying I lather really well one time with a small dollop of an all natural shampoo (Giovanni is my latest) and deep condition with ORS Replenishing pak for 2 hours (while reading a book or cleaning, or watching TV), rinse well, use NTM leave-in and Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil while wet, with special attention to the nape and crown. Let dry about 60 percent while down, then put in loose bun (leaving nape out), tie front down with silk scarf, and let dry over night. In the morning, moisturize again with NTM leave-in and Herbal Oil, with special care to the nape again. Carefully put in bun with foam donut with two bobby pins. LOVELY and NO manipulation!

I usually just leave my hair alone, minimum manipulation is babying enough for me , but when I feel my hair needs a super special treatment Ill make a pre-poo of shea butter, coconut oil and olive oil...mix it together and apply it to dry hair and sit under the dryer, then Ill shampoo and do a deep condition with any choice of conditioners full of shea oil (I LOVE shea!) then Ill rinse and put into a bun, my hair seems to love it!

Oooh, that sounds so yummy, I'll have to try that. :yep:

There various thing I do to baby my hair. If my ends need help, I apply a leave-in and oil and keep them bunned, and baggie overnight as needed. Amla oil is also great for some TLC. For deep conditioning I use Lekair Cholesterol w/Aubrey's Honeysuckle Rose mixed in for a special treat. Right now I am into babying my nape, so it's all about castor oil and WGO for that area.
