My hair type is 4a/b mixed. For me BeCurly does absolutely nothing for curl definition. However, it is without a doubt THE BEST creamy leave in moisturizer I've used. I have used Giovanni Direct and Be Curly and to me Giovanni is done moisturizing as soon as it dries. Be Curly keeps my hair moisturized for the 1-2 days between washes.

Wow JCoily. That is the exact experience I am getting with Giovanni Direct. It's like pure gold on my wet and damp hair. But once it dries....OMG. Forget it. Also, it does better on my dry hair after it has been set. But on air-dried hair..........no no.:ohwell: Thanks for the BeCurly Review.

Thanks for the updated. I was waiting to see how it turned out.:)

You know, today I was looking at his hair when we were out in the sun and it looked really good. His curls were so much more "defined" than they normally are.

Now, we are talking about a kid that has not brushed his hair since that day we used the Be Curly cream on his wet hair. He has also not applied any more of the cream. I have to ask him if he has used the NTM since then, but I doubt it (12 year old boy - :look: - yeah I doubt it  )

His hair looked really good today. I did not touch it to see if it has the same NTM softness, but it was so much more shiny. His hair type is 3c and it is quite coarse.

I think I am going to retry it since I still have the sample tube. We only used about 10-20% of that. I doubt I would buy such an expensive product for him, but it was worth for the review. :D

I saw that a few people commented on the Sap Moss line at Aveda. I had a few dollars to spend, so I bought the shampoo, pre-poo and the conditioner. It was an impulse buy, b/c I am a pj :). Anywho, I am transitioning, I'm probably 90% natural now, and started transitioning 6 months ago. I have no experience with my natural hair, since I have been braided since the 1st day of my transition. The night before I tried the Sap Moss items, I tried to run my fingers through my hair. Yea right :ohwell: , that didn't happen. After I used the collection, i ran my hands straight through my hair. Hours later, after it was dry and only had some keracare essential oils in it, my hair was still a breeze to put my hands through. I am really excited about my new discovery!!!!! Thanks yall!!!!

I'm still on. No plans on leaving. It's made such a difference in my hair so my staples to stay are Aveda DR & Henna :)

I'm actually jumping on this bandwagon. Just the other day I noticed this Aveda salon a couple of blocks from my job. I don't know how I missed it but its this cozy little salon all tucked away. It looks really inviting from the outside.

I've heard so much about Aveda so I'm excited to try.

I tried to jump on the bandwagon but they kicked my *** off.:ohwell: My hair didnt like it and I wanted to like it soooo bad.

I've been using Aveda for years and have yet to be disappointed. Glad to hear others like it as well.

Is the Aveda line a paraben & cone free product line? I hope I hope!

I believe they are paraben free now. They used to use parabens but began phasing them out about 2 or 3 years ago. I just looked at my products and paraben is not on any of them. Now, they do use cones in some stuff, but not in everything. You just have to look at your ingredients and see what has it and what doesn't.

ETA 2/12: I just bought the sap moss shampoo and it does have parabens in it...

Okay, I might try this stuff after all. Thanks so much HoneyDew.

I used the Aveda DR and had no success. The poo was just okay and the conditioner didnt detangle well at all. My hair just laughed at it:lol:

i just ordered the aveda universal hair creme and wanted to know if anyone tried this yet? i have been using it b4 i bun my hair and it makes my hair so soft. its a creme and it says it seals in moisture. i wanted to know if anyone else uses it and how.

I'm still using the serum, and DR treatment & poo. Aveda is expensive, but my hair loves it. I tried to use some Keracare a few days ago, and my hair was like :nono:.

There is a thread somewhere about the 'poo. It doesn't work unless your hair is clarified. The first time I used the 'poo and the treatment, it was the same day I had a relaxer so my hair was very clean. I had excellent results, my hair was thick and strong and soft. The next time I used it I was like  What happened? I had to run to my trusty Salerm 21 just to detangle, 1 week after a relaxer! Trust me, it's the shampoo that sucks (if you're not clarified), not the conditioner.

I love their hair gel!!! It doesn't dry out my scalp baby hair at all! I'm going to Macy's after class to buy the conditioner, perhaps the Damage Remedy one.

CAP, those girls in your siggy...WHo are they? And how are they securing those rollers??

Like many other ladies have mentioned, AVEDA was not a bandwagon for me. I have been using AVEDA products [ Anti-Humectant Pomade, Phommolient, Hang Straight ] since 2003 prior to me finding hairboards.

However, I really love the Damage Remedy Shampoo and Treatment. Have not used them in a while but really great products. And as for the Aveda Serum w/ rice bran oil---it is like the best serum ever ! I am on a personal use up a bunch of hair care stuff challenge so as much as I want to go shopping crazy at Aveda.com....I am going to wait.

do you have to follow up the DR with a moisturizing conditioner and if so, which one do any of you use?
i tried the sap moss nourishing concentrate and i liked it alot. the last time i washed my hair i just used everything aveda and my hair came out wonderfully:grin: . nice, soft, and smooth when i dried it. i think i'm going to leave the other stuff alone for a while and stick totally with the aveda line.

I did not follow up the Damage Remedy Treatment with anything. It was that moisturizing for my hair. Leaves hair strong and moisturized.
