I was wondering if people were still sticking with aveda. I got a sample of the conditioner and I am kinda scared to use it. I am afraid that it might really be some good stuff and if it is, I gots to have it. Well, I will have to trick someone else into buying it for me so I won't break the pj challenge. :look:

Still using it and I don't plan on stopping. I stop messing with it deep into the stretch though because that's when I have to pull out the Dominican products for slip. It's worth it in my opinion.

I'm still riding the damage remedy line.....I've received so many compliments on how healthy my hair looks. Love the stuff!!!!

I am still one-halfway.

The DR shampoo- I now use only after a relaxer-too expensive, but good ish.

The DR con & treat I have replaced with the Color Conserve Treatment-it's like both of them in one-and I also use that only after a relaxer (reconstructor, moisture madness, and protein in one). I am using up my dr conditioner before I purchase this in the big bottle.

The Aveda serum is good too, but it's rahter expensive. I use this every week with no intention of giving this up thogh.

Kinda OT: NYcutie, you were right about the silicon mix. Slip for days!! What other dominican things give you slip for type 4 hair?

I'm getting ready to go get the Nacidit because I hear that's even better.

This wasn't a bandwagon for me. I started out with Aveda Anti-Humectant years before LHCF (I just didn't know how to use it right) and I've added the Aveda serum, which I love. I've sampled a few other products too, like the Sap Moss shampoo and the Damage Remedy treatment--both awesome products but I'm also loving the Nexxus Phyto Organics line for my shampoos and conditioners.:)

I went to Aveda today to get a sample of Be Curly and checked out the Brilliant Creme. I am trying to find a replacement moisturizer that is like the discontinued Herbal Essences Smoothing Cream. It is exactly like it except for the smell (I prefer the HE) and the PRICE ( Big difference).

So far I like it. I was putting on my hair before I even left the mall. I am not sure I will stick with it is if find something with a better price. So far this one is a perfect match, though.

I will try that Be Curly on my son's curly hair to see how it works.

Hmm, I don't think I was on the bandwagon. I bought Aveda purely as an indulgence to pamper my hair after a so-so relaxer. I'm saving it for the next time my hair needs some TLC, because this BW is to $$$ for me!!!

I know!! This AVEDA Brilliant Universal Styling Creme was $16! The same amount of my Herbal Essences cream used to be only $3-4 and made my hair smell so good. I will be using this Aveda cream VERY sparingly. I used to be very heavy handed with the Herbal Essences cream.

I don't even know why I bought that stuff today. I still have a little of my other cream left. But, when you go in there, there is this lure to just get SOMETHING. :look: The Elixer that everyone raves about is a good price (although they are going to stop selling it) but it looks too thin for my hair.

I love Aveda.   The Damage Remedy and Sap Moss lines have completely turned my hair around. I now have super soft and STRONG hair that doesn't knot or tangle, which is a big deal for me since I'm telaxed and stretching.

The only products that are my staples (besides oils/henna stuff) that are not Aveda are my leave-in/moisturizer (Giovanni Direct) and my serum/heat protectant (Chi Silk Infusion).

Me and Be Curly are ride or die!

Elixir -not so much.

I love the products I use.

JCoily.... I was curious about the BeCurly. I want to try this so bad. I hear good things about it from a co-worker but I want to know how 3 and 4 hair types do with this product. Thanks!!

Let me know about the BeCurly. I wish our Aveda gave out samples. That lady looked at me like I was going horns when I asked! lol

No, mine is the same way! I got a postcard in the mail to get a free sample. I am not sure how I got on their mailing list. Otherwise they would be looking at me like I am crazy, too.

I am sure I could use it as a leave in for myself, but I want to see how it works on natural hair. My son has type 3 coarse hair that tends to be dry. Right noe he uses NTM leave in after he washes it with CON. That has been working well and I notice that his curls are much softer. We'll see how this Be Curly works.

I love the Brilliant Universal Styling Creme, I haven't tried anything else because I don't have the funds...soon hopefully

I just bought Aveda Scalp Benefits shampoo and conditioner, from the mall Friday. Haven't used yet, but I really want to get my hands on the Aveda Damage Remedy and use that first. However, it's a little out of my budget( around $50-$60 for the shampoo, conditioner, and serum if bought all together). I think I'll stilll try to buy it later though

i love Aveda. i used to use their whole line of skin and hair products years ago but stopped and came back to it with a vengance in the past couple of months. i just ordered the damage remedy and universal creme. i love the sap moss shampoo and brilliant conditoner. i think i decided today to slow down on being a pj and stick with just the Aveda line for a minute:p . although i'm dying to try the salerm 21;)

okay. lol Glad it's not just the stores in my area. The next time I go in I need to find out how to get on that list! Let me know how it works for your son. I just said last night I am going to pull out the NTM and try it out.

Well we just used it on his hair after he washed it. I am not sure I like it as much as the NTM leave in. This is the curl enhancing lotion we used. His hair does not feel as soft and moisturized. I told him that we will really decide if we like it after his air is dry. In the morning, if it is not as soft, he can just use his bottle of NTM and brush his hair. We'll see - jury still out. Maybe this is good after moisturizing maybe? I don't know, we'll see.

My hair type is 4a/b mixed. For me BeCurly does absolutely nothing for curl definition. However, it is without a doubt THE BEST creamy leave in moisturizer I've used. I have used Giovanni Direct and Be Curly and to me Giovanni is done moisturizing as soon as it dries. Be Curly keeps my hair moisturized for the 1-2 days between washes.

Aveda DR is the last word on moisturizing conditioners. Now and forever. :D

+1

My hair loooves this stuff. I need to find someone who works there so I can get the poo and treatment in the large size.

Ok, I offically like NTM better than the Be Curly leave in. It does not soften as much. NTM does feel like it can leave buildup at times, which the Be Curly does not seem to do. I guess I can pick my battle here. I prefer softer hair.

Okay, I am speaking because I used my son's hair as a trial with this stuff. :) But, I figured he was a good test because his hair is natural and it about 2 inches long and curly.

I'm still ridin' :yay: but i wasn't on the bandwagon...i've been using Aveda for years :D

I recently bought the new Be Curly shampoo & conditioner, the Shampure shampoo & conditioner, and the Brilliant Damage control spray. I also use the Deep Penetrating Hair Revitalizer & the Cherry Almond Bark conditioner.

I hear they are coming out with some other new lines so I'm excited to see what they are going to come out with.

I am still usung their products...albeit I cant afford my mortgage because of the cost of the products but my hair is thanking me well for every dime spent. If my hair is happy, I am happy!

 That is why I don't want to get used to these expensive products. I need new floors and appliances in my kitchen and I just can't see spending too much right now.

But, I just found out the value of my house just went up $25K. Maybe I should treat myself for once.
