WHAT!!!! I have been using AO HSR for only a few weeks and love it. I planned on making it my staple and now they changed it:perplexed When did this happen? I wonder if I have the old or new formulation?

Have you tried the new formulated HSR? Is there a difference between the old formula and the new.

I better get some of the old formula quick, I don't like the new forumla.

Well this totally reeks - best conditioner I've ever met or at least it *was*.

What did they do to it MJ?

I had no idea there was a new. I wonder when they changed it. I do remember that last time I used it, I didn't like it as much. I've only been using it as a leave-in since.

Old Formula
Coconut fatty acid cream base, organic aloe vera, organic shea butter, wheat germ oil, organic jojoba oil, organic Rosa Mosqueta Rose Hip Seed Oil; extracts of fennel, hops, balm Mint, misltletoe, camomile, yarrow, chrysanthenum, angelica, forsythia and magnolia; honeysuckle oil, carrot oil, Aubrey's Preservstive (citrus seed extract, vitamins A, C and E).

New Formula

The old formula has a Coconut Fatty Acid Cream Base

Are these ingredients directly from a bottle of the product?

Looks like it. I was hoping MJ was mistaken, but looks like that is the new formula:

Well, I know those are the ingredients listed on the website. That's why I asked if they were directly from a bottle (in hand) of the product. I am thinking the ingredients from the site could possibly be a mistake. The first few ingredients there are like the ones from some of their shampoo formulations.

Ok, MJ? Is this new formula for the poo or the conditioner?

Well, the ingredients for the poo are different than the ingredients she posted. But like I said, the first few ingredients are just like some of their shampoo formulations. I am thinking it's a misprint, because the conditioner would lather (I would think) if it had those first few ingredients.

Now, I do have a bottle of the HSR condish unopened and purchased just a couple of weeks ago and the original ingredients are listed on the back. They are not the ingredients from the website/from this thread.

For the conditioner:wallbash:

GRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
:cry::cry::burning::mob::clubu::endworld::darkcloud::crybaby::wallbash:

ok, I'm mad. So the coconut fatty acid is gone? I think that's one of the ingredients that make it nice.

Good news: I know I saw a couple websites where you can buy CFA base straight up and mix your own or add to your own conditioner.

Still, i absolutely CAN. NOT. STAND. when companies play the *New and *Improved game. Hate it.

Thanks ladies.

Don't get upset just yet. I won't believe it until I see it on a bottle of the product.

Hey Lynn what's the websites name?

oh, okay, i see what you mean. i was going to go ahead and shoot them an email asking but their "contact us" page doesn't seem to be working for me.

Okay I realize it's a mistake. WHEW because the HSR is my favorite deep conditioner and was already crying. SORRY

It's a typo on the Web site.

Those are also the same ingredients for the Island Naturals shampoo, and I really do think the listed ingredients are for shampoo, not the conditioner (Island Naturals nor HSR). I don't think AO has changed its formulation in years.

ITA. Corn oil soap screams shampoo and hence typo. I have seen this error on different sites. I think it's just a matter of the wrong info attributed to a product. Why would they put soap in a conditioner that has a corresponding shampoo?

That sounds like a shampoo, it has soap in it, the original formula does not, I'm confused...The formulas are so different

Don't apologize--your post was helpful. It got me to wondering why I didn't like the product as much last time. I am hoping it was because I had build up or something like that.

Those aren't the ingredients for a conditioner.

Corn oil soap is in EVERY AO shampoo... even if I didn't know it, the ingredients just scream "SHAMPOO!!!"

That formula is definitely not a conditioner.

It's just a mistake!

Interesting tidbit.... the coconut base everyone is in love with just CETYL ALCOHOL.

Lynnieb... You just wrong for having all that hair! :infatuated:

That's interesting. How did you find this out? Maybe it's because they actually make their cetyl alcohol with coconut, as I've read that it can also be made from petroleum or palm oil.
