A no lye relaxer usually does not give the hair strands elasticity

thats a quote i got from the growafrohairlong site.. and im aworried now cause i love no lye relaxers and i dont have to worry bout a burning scalp but i do noticed that my hair does not hold a curl well... its drops really fast.. and im wondering is this because of only the no lye relaxer or could this be due to other reasons as well

wat do you think?

I don't think so personally. I do think that some relaxers - lye and no-lye are better than others at damage control.

For me, I have about 2-3 inches of lye relaxed relaxed ends (Mizani) and the rest with Profectiv regular. When my hair sheds, my ends break easily, but the parts that are relaxed with Profectiv are very elastic.

Maybe that is because they are texlaxed, I don't know.

Also, my hair can lose elasticity based on other things. Like when I use certain conditioners or my moisture balance is off.

I don't believe that crap about lye vs. no-lye - hair relaxed with either one has specific needs regardless.

This doesn't happen to me. I've have always used no-lye relaxers, and my hair maintains elasticity quite well, even when dry (not wet).

Personally, I take information like that with a grain of salt if it is not accompanied by a source, especially regarding chemicals.
