I'm doing pretty good. I'm weaved up right now. I was on the Christmas stretch but decided to stretch until April.

Checkin in here , so far so good, everything is going fine for me, except for an incident this weekend where I took down some cornrows and my hair started to lock up. I was so scared, I had to mix up some stuff quick and detangle it bit by bit. This was weird cause I have stretched for 12 weeks or more on many occasions before and never had this problem, plus my last relaxer was just on Dec. 10, 2005 so Im only around 6wks post. Anyway, I have never used a detangelar before but I realize that I need one, so any recs. ladies??

Don't know if I'm gonna make it. :( I don't think I'm doing such a good job handling both textures. The only thing that will probably save me is weekly or bi-weekly Dominican blowouts, otherwise, I think I'll have to relax next month. But I'm still trying!

I'm still yet holding on!

I fell in love with Aubrey's. The Island Naturals conditioner is great. I can comb thru my 11 weeks post hair like it was only 4 - 5 weeks post.

I know that I can make it with Aubrey's.

How are you all holding out??

I am doing fine. ;) My six-week mark was yesterday and it doesn't really feel like it which kinda scares me. I texlaxed my hair on my last two touchups so it's kinda hard to tell exactly what newgrowth I have but it appears that I only have 1/4th of an inch which is BAD! BUT, anyway, I am hanging in there. Taking MSM and doing MTG....maybe some of my newgrowth is just softer.

Checking in also! I have had braids for almost three weeks. My last relaxer was Dec. 15, 2005. I plan to take the braids out next weekend. I am just anxious to see the progress of my hair. I have been oiling it with WGO and Surge every two days. My hair needed a break after coming off the 6 month stretch and plus because it is the winter months. It may get put back in some more braids next weekend. I have it in two layer cornrows with extensions to mid back. Will have to post pics.

checking in! I'm still holding. My last relaxer was first week of September.

I would like to join. I am currently 9 weeks post relaxer and I don't plan on relaxing until april. It might be the end of april though (over 5 months).

I'm on week 15, and looking good. I'm a lil on the broke side right now, so relaxing isn't really an option  .

Sedal Acondicionador is really helping me get through tangles, leaving me with soft hair for an easy rollerset. Can't wait till April though...

is that the leave in or the deep conditioner?

It's one of the conditioners. It's in a tall bottle similar to the shampoo. They also have deep conditioners in jars, but I've never used those.

I am doing pretty well, even though I am planning on stretching until the first or second week of May. I am even considering transitioning. I love the texture of my hair plus people always compliment me on my hair in its natural state and they always ask me if I have ever gotten a relaxer and I'm like yeah, but I think that will stop. I am currently 12 weeks post.

My last relaxer was Nov. 5 and I feel I can stretch to 14 weeks at maximum. I want to join the challenge because I am on a 6 month bun challenge. But I do twist out and pull my hair into a bun. I am afraid to CO Wash, twist out and bun until April as it seems I would have lots of breakage.

Any suggestions on how to keep 4a hair manageable enough to stretch from 11 weeks to 20 weeks post relaxer. Also my hair has color in it. I really want to know the secret to stretching my new growth cause I'm confident I can.

I was doing pretty good until i realized i had a function to attend. Sooooooo I'm on it. again. I got an inch last month though! yay!

I am only 4 weeks post at this point. It's already a little tough since I texlaxed the last time I relaxed my hair. For the most part I have been wearing my hair with the baggie method and my phony pony, though last week I wore my hair out because I was at a conference with work, but now I am back to my conditioner washes and my phony pony.

Just 12 weeks and 3 days to go!!! Oh boy!!

I am currently 15 weeks post, going alright...might relax 6 weeks from now in time for spring break. If I dont, ill wait an extra 2 weeks.

Thanks to my Quick Weave I am doing just fine. My last relaxer was the 1st of November. I can't wait to see the progress..

Doing well. I'm at 16 and a half weeks. I like my new growth, but my hair is growing SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo slowly. I've gotten my 2 inches for the 4 months, but dang! Tryin ta stay encouraged over here.

Is it too late to join...I was already planning to stretch for 4 months, but with the extra support I know I can do it. The longest I went was 3 months and boy did I cry when I got there. I am now 4 weeks post relaxer and doing great. Things start to get crazy around week 10-12..so that is when the support is really needed. I plan to leave my hair out for a majority of the stretch. Last year I did mostly braids and it helped with growing out my hair, but I hated the braids after awhile. I am going to try it once without braids, then the 2nd stretch I am doing braids the whole time. Mix it up.
My plan:
-wash 2 days a week, once a week deep condition
-mostly use flex rods, braid outs, phony ponies, and 1/2 wigs, rollers
-once week 12 rolls around I am dropping my washing to once a week and deep condition, air dry and maxiglide my roots.

ummm, I forgot I was in the challenge, even though I said I was going to get a perm on my birthday, April 7th. (last time I got one was December 7th). Depends on how things are going and since I realized that I can actually do a decent flat twistout, I may go to May7th!

So far so good, but my new growth comes in the form of deep waves and my maxiglide just doesn't straighten out every crinkle, but just enough to make everything not look so poofy. That's fine with me cause it gives my hair some lift and it looks thick. (wish it really was!) I don't flat iron every section either.

I washed and rollerset yesterday and I am so happy that I am getting better at rollersetting cause it took me only 25 minutes to rollerset.

Hey, I hope I'm not crashing the party but I decided to stretch to April although I'm three months post now. My newgrowth is is pretty unruly and my hair's breaking unfortunately so I'm going to baby it until I get silky dreds in a week or so. I did have a semi- disaster with my Maxiglide tonight, hair everywhere so I plan a protein treatment very soon. When I get the dreds in though I plan on MTGing daily or every other day, Surging daily with Surge spiked with castor oil, washing weekly to every four days or so. How does this sound? Overall, my stretch will last six months about.

I think Im okay, had a little problems combing thru my hair but I think I can hold out. My boyfriend is even rooting for me. LoL I almost broke down last week and got a relaxer and he convinced me not too. He's white so of course, he doesn't know what we go thru with our hair. LoL

I just found JASON Sea Kelp Conditioner and Giovanni Direct Leave-In, and I think I may actually make it to April! This is the softest my hair has ever been after a co-wash! Even my nape feels good, and I know that ain't nothing but naps. I can do this...

Going strong here, last relaxer was October 16! I am currently in braids, and have been for two weeks now. I am planning on re-braiding when these get old, and that should see me into April. Planning on getting my hair relaxed on April 1st as a bday present to myself!!

I will be 6 months post relaxer on February 10. I don't know when I will relax my hair at this point, granted that it keeps acting right.

I'm here. I am 22 weeks post!

My nape looks a H.A.M. It's broken off so badly that it wasn't worth saving those little strands hanging on to curls of new growth. So what I did was, I cut all the strings off my nape. Yes, there is only NG back there, so my nape is completely natural. Lucky for me, my hair is long enough that it covers my nape so nobody knows that I have 2 inches of new growth back there. Also, my right side looks a H.A.M. too. Worse than my nape. I'm definitely still in here no matter how rough it's getting. I have about 2.5 worth of newgrowth all around except for my right side and my nape.

Last week I flat ironed my hair for a length check and it's growing in a V shape and dusted. The tip of the "V" is actually at my top of my back. I have been using Mango Butter, but I don't think that's all that great of a product. It's moisturizing (and smells great!) but in the morning, my hair isn't moisturized at all. I was thinking tomorrow going to buy some Pink Lotion, the light formula. I still haven't found what works well for my hair or my two textures. I don't know if I should use grease, oil, "old fashion products" or these newer brand name products. It seems that when I find a product that is SOMEwhat moisturizing, it turns out to weigh my hair down, stink or gets greasy. Oh and by the way, CW don't work for me. I just don't know what to do....but I'm still in here.
