And swear by them? What Brand and what products you use. I'm in cosmetology school and the teachers swear when you go salon brand you never go back. The only thing I have used is Mazani heat protectant and I hated it. It had my hair stiff. I feel with my non salon brands my hair is fine ,but wondering could it get better.

elucence keracare, and Nairobi have been good to me!

Joico, Nexxus, and Keracare ( I've only used the restorative mask). If non salon brands are working for your hair then I say do what works... You know if it ain't broke no point in fixing it. I like to use both natural and salon products.

Nexxus, keracare, joico and kanechom. Kerastase is great too.

Also, some brands state they are for professional use, but to me that doesn't always equate to salon brand.

Joico
Moisture recovery shampoo & conditioner
Moisture recovery treatment balm (staple)
Kerastase
The whole orange line and some of the green line
Masquintense, nutrithermique masks and the nectar rhermique leave in are my favorite products.
Photo
Phytokarite mask is a favorite
Macadamia nut natural oil
Mask and treatment oil are my favorite. The shampoo was just ok.
Nexus
Humectress deep conditioner and emergencee are both staples
Pureology
Hydracure intense hydrating mask
21 benefits leave in
Moisturizing shampoo
I just started using this line last month. It's ok so far. Not worth the price in my opinion.
Keracare
Hydrating shampoo. This was a staple until it started drying my hair out. May revisit.
I alternate between salon brands and natural products. My favorite line to use remain silk dreams hair care.
The best salon brands I believe are
Joico
Kerastase
Nexus in that order.

I still use items by:

Nexxus
Joico
Affirm
Mizani
Others
Frederic Fekkai
Rene Furturer
Phyto
Dudley
BBD Stretch
Apoghee

etc...from time to time in different parts of my Regimen.

Joico moisture recovery is a great line and Paul Mitchell tea tree line. Other than that nope, the rest were just overpriced Aussie/Tresemme etc

As mentioned already: Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner. The shampoo has moisture and slip and the conditioner drenches your hair with more moisture. You only need to leave it on for a minute -not even that- and the need to deep condition is completely eliminated.

Here are salon products that are in my regimen:
Mixed Chicks deep conditioner
Paul Mitchell the Conditioner
Nioxin Number 5 Cleanser

I want to try some Ouidad products next or the Macadamia line.

For me, the salon product types that have made a difference for me are shampoos, deep conditioners and the leave in conditioner. With everything else, the drugstore brands are fine.

So far I have used and liked:

Matrix Biolage

Redken

Aveda

Macademia oil

I want to try:

Joico

Paul Mitchell the detangler (ther conditioner) and PM the conditioner (the leave in)

Also the skinny serum when I striagthen, rarely.

I have used the kockoff, they are nice but not the same.

Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm - the King of all conditioners!!! Melts tangles, softens hair, moisturises. It's simply amazing and you don't need a lot as it's so thick. There's *always* a 500ml jar in my bathroom.
Paul Mitchell Clarifying Shampoo
Redken All Soft Heavy Cream - I love this conditioner. It's currently my go-to conditioner.
Redken Diamond Oil deep treatment - Also a nice conditioner

I use various salon brands and I do think they're very good quality.

However, I do think your teacher is wrong (at least in my case).

I use various products for various things.

I prefer all natural/handmade products for DC'in/moisturizing

I prefer drugstore conditioner for detangling

I prefer Salon brands for heat usage.

I may switch it up every now and then, but for the most part this is what I stick to.

You put exactly as I believe it to be , for MY hair. I don't use drugstore products though. I have yet to find one to be worth a repurchase. Probably never will, as my PJ days are gone, loll.

Regular hair products do nothing for me anymore. I'm transitioning to 100% salon products with a random outlier here and there.

I like all kinds of products, cheap ones included. But Matrix biolage ultra hydrasource conditioner is one of the best I've ever had.

Joico Moisture Recovery line

Redken

Paul Mitchell

KeraCare

It's a 10

Macadamia Oil Deep Repair Masque

Next on my list to try is Ouidad

elucence keracare, and Nairobi have been good to me!
I use Keracare exclusively now for shampooing, DC, etc. I use the Nairobi foam wrap for all of my sets. I have been a member for a long time and have used MANY different products, but I always go back to Keracare. So, for now it is my staple, no more PJ'ism for me. I also keep my hair at a certain length, just for manageability purposes, but in 2015 I'm going to not cut it and see how long it can get. :yep:

Kenra - Moisturizing Conditioner, Shine Serum

Keracare- KeraCare Strengthening Thermal Protector, KeraCare Edge Tamer, KeraCare Leave-In Conditioner, KeraCare Silken Seal, KeraCare Conditioning Creme Hairdress, KeraCare Creme Press, KeraCare Super Reconstructor, KeraCare Silken Seal Liquid Sheen Spray

Mizani- Mizani True Textures Curl Balance Moisturizing Sulfate-Free Shampoo, Mizani Foam Wrap, Mizani Butter Blend Sensitive Scalp Balance Hair Bath, Mizani Thermasmooth Conditioner

Elucence- Moisture balance conditioner, volume clarifying shampoo, silk hydrating elixir

Joico- Moisture recovery conditioner, moisture recovery treatment balm, kpak intense hydrator, K-PAK Color Therapy Restorative Styling Oil, kpak smoothing balm

I have mostly tried salon brand conditioners. I tried Nexxus humectress and Keracare's humecto in the past and wasn't particularly impressed with either. I also have Matrix biolage aqua immersion conditioner which is decent.

Recently I tried Joico's moisture recovery conditioner, and Affirm's relaxer and reconstructor and they were all really good :yep:

I currently like novex which is a salon brand in brazil i think. Joico was just ok for my hair. Tht is pretty much all i use now. I like professional/salon quality products better than natural and drugstore brands though.

Oh yeah! It's a 10 transformed my hair. The DC is the best I've ever used with heat. I've been using nothing but this brand and Sabino since early this year. I am finally satisfied with my products.
