I tried it for the first time last week and loved it. When I finish transitioning, I'll try to wear it that way occasionally.

What have been your experiences with this method so far? Any hair breakage or shedding? How often are you flat ironing your damp hair?

Can someone describe this method to me? I never flat ironed with my hair damp...wouldnt it burn the iron or something? maybe I am missing something...e lab o rate pleez

My experience: it took too long because I had to go over the hair several times to get it straight; I got burnt by the steam too many times; and in the end my hair looked and felt the same way it does when I flat iron dry.

Wouldn't that cause damage to your hair?

ive pressed my hair wet many times..it is a hassle cause you gotta do it several times..but it dries softer than blowdrying. and the press seems more moist, like it locks in moisture or somethin....you just gotta not be scurred of the sizzle

...i do think you gotta know what your doing though

I remember seeing this one website where they said you shouldn't blow dry your hair wet because the water will get hot and boil, causing bubbles to form in hair strands. I thought pressing your hair wet would cause the same kind of damage. I still wouldn't try it. The thought just makes me shudder.

I don't flat iron damp - but I plan to do an oil treatment this way this weekned.

I apply oil and conditioner to my dry hair, divide my hair into about six sections and wrap them in foil and then go over the foil with my flat iron or curling iron.

It's also known as "sealing" - not to be confused with sealing the ends with oil after a wash....

i do it about once a week when i shampoo my hair. i let it air dry for about an hour anyway so its almost all the way dry anyway.

my stylist (b/f she moved ot another country) used to flat iron conditioner into my hair while still wet...a way of sealing moisture into the hair, then rinse with cold water
