In the next few months I want to venture out into rollersetting - never done this on my own before. So any tips on doing this w/ short hair. What are the best rollers to use for the initial set. I'm thinking about using those soft sponge rollers by scuncii. I want a soft fluffy elongated fro w/o the waves that braid/twist outs give.

Please don't use sponge rollers- no mature what leave in you use the nature of a sponge is to absorb moisture from our already moisture challenged tresses. You can wet your hair and then set them on straws with a non alcohol gel- I got great textured TWA's with this method. Oh and cut the straws to fit your hairs length and anchor your hair on the straw with regular size bobby pins. (But you prolly knew that anyway:yawn:)

I want to create big curls and the sponge rollers I saw by scuncii are covered w/satin - maybe I should've called them soft rollers. I can't find a pic - I saw them at Walgreens last summer- I guess they stopped selling them.

Thanx dlove - why didn't you just tell me you've already done a rollerset on a TWA:rolleyes:!!!
(btw you should get a fotki )
