I have finally learned how to self relax! The biggest difference for me was making sure I had clarified my hair 3-5 days prior! Also I switched brands, used to use Motions now I use Affirm. I also use a pastry bag to apply, not that I think that was the difference but it made me realize that when I was using my fingers I wasn't applying enough creme. I would rather have a stylist relax me, but honestly that is what drove me to master the technique.
In Aug, my last stylist t/u, I was very overprocessed and the corrective was a DISASTER. The result being ends that have turned red on my naturally dark brown hair- the good news is that the roots are coming in nicely and the inches that I have processed look very health compare to the overprocessed ends.

. I have this one stylist and even though she's quite a distance away from me, i trust her alone to get the job done right without her preaching to me how much i need to CUT CUT CUT.
. That scared me to death and I went to my stylist 8 weeks ago and again today for my touch-up. The first one was ok. Today, she overlapped so badly that I can actually feel that my hair is weakened. I am going to spend the next 8 weeks reading all I can about self-relaxing --- I am going to take it seriously, treat relaxer like a chemical, and figure it out. I can overlap by myself.
