I currently wash my hair everyone sunday (only shampoo once a month), I follow up with a deep condition (usually motions cpr and biolage moisturizing balm), I jump under the hood for 5-10 minutes, and wash out. then I towel blot (gently), apply castor and evoo to my scalp, then a small amount of leave-in. I love the ntm cream leave in. I rollerset and sit under the dryer for 1 hour and 20 mins:nono: It comes out fabulous ( if i do say so myself....lol)

So, my question is, do I need to change anything with the weather change? I am new to this and I have not experienced anything other than "summer hair." New york has ALL seasons and I just wanted to be prepared. Any advice on what I can look out for?

I think some heads like heavier products in cold whether which I know in NY (BX native) will be like, next month, lol.

Welcome to the 4-seasons...LOL!:lachen:

I know for me, personally, I really need to pay special attention to my hair, and my ends!, during the winter months. It is so cold and drying. Even my skin, and lips, get a little more cocobutter than ususal during the winter. I get so dry and ashy so quickly in the winter. I usually up my hair moisturizing to twice a day (morning and bedtime), and up my DC also.

Hope others will chime in....:yep:

now that the colder months are creeping on us
it'd probably do you good to do an extra DC a week than you normally do
and up the daily moisture.

keep your ends protected and off of your back/clothes

I agree with baddison. I also have harse winter months. Make sure to keep your ends protected and watch those winter hats.

Usually in the winter months, I wear my hair in two strand twist or cornrows and keep my ends oiled up. If I don't wear my hair in those styles then I DC every week and try to keep my hair moisturized at all times.

I only wash my hair on weekends.....so are you guys saying i need to wash twice a week in the winter? I really need to know if this is nescessary or if there is any other way....I have two kids (one is 3 months old.) Washing twice a week is not really realistic for me at this time. My wash/rollerset/dry regimen takes about 4 hours. HELP!!!!!!!!!

I think washing once a week is fine, just use more moisturizer. Keep it bunned up and away from your wool sweaters, scarves and hats. I usually have to put a lot of moisturizer and oil to keep my hair from drying out and breaking in the winter
