Anybody else NOT impressed by the CHI? *pics*

I talked to a stylist about the CHI and the drying effect (because I have really dry hair) and here is what she said: The CHI seals the cuticle so if your hair is dry before you flat iron that is the result you will get. If the hair is moisturized before you flat iron, of course the moisture is sealed in. She said it's about the products and technique. Since it was on sale and I couldn't afford the FHI, I decided to give the CHI a try. I made sure I used a leave-in, a little moisturizer, and CHI silk infusion. I am assuming she was correct because my hair feels soft and moisturized. I am type 4a and my hair is normally very dry and brittle after flat ironing or blow drying. I am happy I decided to try it out.

I feel the same way about mine but I had it for a while. I wish it had heat controls. I am not going to purchase another flat iron because I don't flat iron that often and I am trying to stay away from direct heat so I can thicken my strands. BTW.. your hair looks gorgeous

I got a CHI as a gift & since I never really use heat on my hair, I was happy b/c I didn't want to invest in one.

The CHI gets my hair straight, and my hair doesn't revert quickly at all....but I don't like that I can't change the temp...that thing gets SOOOOO HOT! I don't like it and may be looking in the near future for another flat iron

I tried an FHI before and the results werent as good as the CHI imo. I have had three CHI flatirons (I keep accidentally burning the cord, all my fault being careless) And I love the CHI it gets my hair super straight and my hair always comes out amazing. But it is alot of heat. Just recently got a Maxiglide MP and it left my hair feeling sooo soft and healthy, but the results werent that straight. I think I will continue to use my CHI but only on weave hair or on my hair only when I want it super straight. But i will use my maxiglide on my hair, just for light presses. I dont see myself pruchasing a FHI in the future.

I have a chi, FHI & now the Joico Vapor Iron. I initally liked the chi, but since my hair is colored I want to be able to control the temp, loved the FHI, but daughter took that from me. Just got the Joico last week & I love it leaves my hair feeling silky & looking shiny

Yeah that darn chi is a sham. I used it when my hair was relaxed and it broke it off. I have used it as a natural and it dries it out. How about its better for me to press with a pressing comb then to use the chi. I am still in search of something. I really would get the maxiglide but my hair is too short at the moment for it.

I hate my Chi. I've been saying that forever! It's a piece of junk where I'm concerned. I hate that it doesn't have the temp control, so I seldomly use it on my real hair. I might get the FHI runway or that new one that's been getting all the rave. Joico I think.
