I've done the odd treatment in the past but I'm doing a personal experiement using powders as masks and rinses for a month. So far so good.

I did a tea rinse yday of 1tbsp shikakai and 2tbsp amla and it made my hair feel so silky, I'm sold! I'll be trying out a few combinations and keep my fotki updated with how I get on.

i should try this........i have the vatika and alma oils that i got from the indian store near my parents house. i will see if i find the teas and the powders

I have gone back to all Ayurvedic powders and oils and make my own treatments.
I use to do this back in the 1990's and loved it and why I changed.......experimenting and pj fever. If I had stayed with it and tweaked my game, I would be twice as far ahead.

My hair is thicker, stronger and moister.
Now I am a lifer!

ok, Ive been meaning to ask this for a LONG time! Aproximately how much water/tsp of powders are u ladies using in ur teas? I want to make a tea, but Im not sure how much shikaikai/amla to put in it in relation to water. Help please?

when i was moving and had all my powders, herbs, oils, etc packed up but i really wanted oil, and not the mineral oil laden ones, i found tattva's herbs online. LOVE the heavenly hair oil. it's super expensive and u can make your own for WAAAAY cheaper but i still LOVE that oil. smells so good. i think it's the sandalwood and jasmine in it.

How often can you do a patse with the indian powders? is twice a week too much?
