Wow!! I've been eyeing this stuff for a while!! DSD--is it necessary to use everything in the line in order to get great results. I mean, do I need to use the shampoo +conditioner+ the serum or can I just use some of the stuff? I think you might've already answered my question when you said that it is a system.

I'm gonna check out your album!
It comes out better if you use the entire product line. Everything compliments one another. However the key is the serum if you don't won't to purchase the whole line.

If you do purchase the whole line you will get awesome manageability. It cuts down your styling time dramatically.

Thanks so much for that THOROUGH explanation! So, is this a product that could help with my roller sets (to keep them from reverting and to keep the new growth straight)?
I've never used it with rollersets but it promises to prolong reversion so it should matter what method of straightening you use.

Thank you for posting this. My stylist recommends the line every time I go to her( she probably will tomorrow) she raves about the con. I am going to try the serum first. I needed a second opinion, lol.

THANKS DSD!! I've made the decision to purchase the entire line. I won't be able to use it right away though; my next use of a heat tool is scheduled for Feb.:nono::perplexed

I can't wait to see the growth!

Ok. As a stylist who used the thermasmooth on a regular basis. I can give you a little insight.

For BoingBoing, it's a set of shampoo, conditioner, styling serum and shine spray that helps keep natural hair from reverting so quickly when it is styled straight. It doesn't have anything in it that will make your curls stay straight permanently.

PMichael, let me answer your questions.

Thermasmooth does not change your curl pattern. It is just styling products applied to the hair to make it more manageable and it does a great job.

You can go about 2 weeks in between getting your hair straightened by using the Mizani. They are really good product for naturals and even transitioners. When I use it on my clients hair it is almost always still straight when they return for the next shampoo and press.

The only thing that would make your curl pattern not return to normal is heat damage. Since the stylist that you consulted with does a lot of natural presses she is more than likely familiar with using the proper tools and techniques to keep your natural curl pattern in tact. At least I hope so.

You will get fabulous results with the thermasmooth. It really is a great set of products.

i want to try this, but do i need all of the prods b/c i've heard some say that the shampoo & condish do most of the work. what do you think- which are the most important components?

If you want the manageability go with the whole product line. If you just want your hair to stay straighter longer you can just use the serum.

I've been using Mizani Therasmooth for a few months. I like it. The system has a heat protector in it. My stylist just uses the shampoo, conditioner, and the leave in conditioner cream. I don't like the spritz. The shampoo does have sodium hydroxide in it.

I had my hair flat ironed using just the serum on 10/16 and my hair is still straight even after getting rained on twice! In the interest of full disclosure I'm transitioning (see ticker) using BKT (Softliss), but I have NEVER hair hair this straight without a relaxer. Let me see if I can find a decent pic.

I stopped going to the lady that introduced this to me but I must say that she has sold me on the Thermasmooth. I don't like my hair in a straight style yet, because it has no shape and I don't want to cut it while I'm still transitioning.

But I tell you what, when the summer time comes, I will be Thermasmoothing my butt off! I got the shampoo and conditioner for free (off this board) so now I'm just going to get the serum. Not sure how I feel about the spray or if I even need it. It REALLY works and the more you use it, the "easier" it will take BUT your texture won't be changed when you want to go back to curly.

When I BKT'd my hair when it got wet BOTH TIMES my fro came right back...it was only straight the few days that I left it out straight.

It has been 4 months post relaxer and I called Hair Cuttery to make an appt to have my ends trimmed. I informed the lady that I was transitioning to natural and she immediately told me about Mizani Thermasmooth! I just got home and I am in love with my hair. It is super soft and healthy looking. Mizani product were buy one get one half off so I bought the shampoo and conditioner for $19.99. Can't wait to use them myself (thinking i should have purchased the serum too though).
