Aveda daily Elixer is like a creamy lotion. Also I like to mix some Pantene S&S with PM Supercharged for a thick leave-in...especially when I air dry.
caramelhonee, i like everything about the KeraCare leave-in except the fact that it makes me look like i have dandruff when i use it. i don't know if i got hold of a bad batch, but i remember someone else saying the same thing. so i'm not sure...

So far so good for me... i've used it only twice tho.
see... just as i suspected. i think i got a bad batch. if you've used it twice with no problem, yours must be okay. it's something you would definitely notice right away. dang, i've had it too long to try to get my money back...
thanks for letting me know though. maybe if i ever see it in a store (which i never have), i'll do a spot test and give it another try cuz i love the smell...
I'm loving this leave-in! What conditioner are you going to use? I was tempted to use Elucence or Pantene S&S, but I didn't want to waste them in case the recipe was a bust.
I would LOVE to get advice on a good leave-in conditioner. However every leave-in I've tried (many) takes my hair out at the root. Is it something I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to do the best for my hair without losing my growth I've worked so hard to gain.
I've recently tried Ion's leave-in about 2 wks ago...had to return it. Then I tried Aphogee's leave-in which is supposed to add moisture to the hair...now I will have to return it also. The gal at Sally's swore by it.
As far as the Ion is concerned, it contains alcohol...I should have known better.
Sassygirl, I couldn't wait to get home and try that recipe!!
I used 1 cup of some Ultra Sheen Detangling conditioner that I had and hated, along with what was left of my Dudley's PCA Moisture Retainer (I had about 1/8 left in the bottle). Then I used a mixture of coconut, avocado, and olive oil - enough of each to equal 1/8 cup, 1/8 cup of glycerine and 1/4 cup of silicone drops.
I was afraid to use at first, but it was getting late so I went ahead and put on my freshly rinsed, damp hair, braided up, rolled the ends and my hair feels great this morning!! My braidout doesn't feel dry at all and I didn't have to add any more conditioner this morning and best of all it helped me get rid of that conditioner I hated.
I didn't want to waste my good stuff either in case it was a bust. But this worked perfect for my braidout. I don't like using my good stuff when I'm rinsing every night.

I'm yo pusha...
Technically, glycerin isn't a hair product. I say if it isn't sold in the health and beauty section of the store, it isn't a hair product. I think you're still in the challenge...
