okay, so as some of you may know, I started in August (short cut/ shaved in the back type thing- see fotki), and here is where i'm somewhat at after a relaxer that didn't take AT ALL (another story), so I am due for a relaxer, but I'm waiting for another 12wks if i can:







(exuse the "long neck".. its not long, I just was stretching to look in the mirror, while taking the pic. LOL )


So, I'm in on the challenge, and so far here is my reggie:

current length: a little below ear length on sides, front hits top lip, and back falls somewhere on neck

goal: right above shoulder in august (my 1 yr mark), or full shoulder by Dec

REGIMEN:
*ayurvedic tea rinse/ co washing every 3-4 days
*DC once/ week
*Aphogee shampoo once every 2 weeks
*Always prepoo w/ ayurvedic oils
*Moist w/ Mango Butter or ORS Olive Oil Hair Moisturizing Hair Lotion every other day
*Always seal with castor oil
*Henna once every 6 weeks
*Clarify once every 6 weeks
*Protein as needed with either Joico, Nexxus, or Aphogee (depends on what mood my hair is in)
*relax once every 12 weeks (week after i clarify)
*vitamins every day, and MN when 2/week

(If anyone have any suggestions to improve my regimen, they are welcome)

LexiB..CBL is shorter than SL in my opinion..thats my goal for now then hopefully SL..
My regimen is in my Fotki.

erplexed k, now I'm confused! lol, I thought SL was the top of your shoulder and CBL was where the hair reaches the two horizontal bones on your chest (you know, the lumpy ones underneath your throat...)

Whatever, it's beside the point. Let's all just grow!

I'm in...I've currently got 4 inches of hair on my head. 5 more inches till shoulder length. So hopefully I will be neck length by the summer (June).

Current regimen:
wash weekly with hairveda products
moisturize daily with mango butter
protective style the whole week

thats it.

Well your collarbone if you follow it slopes downwards so the top part can be considered closer than shoulder technically. Anyways I'm lower cbl fully stretched but would like to be mid-neck upper cbl/shoulder semi-stretched/shrunken. Whichever comes first. I'm still tweaking my regime but right now I'm trying no heat, low mani/protective styles for this year.

Hi ..I'd like to join. I am new to this challenge sort of thing. I have shorter hair... also a Rhianna cut that is growing out. I really dont have any protective styles to do. I'd rather not wear a wig or get a weave (only because thats what I've been doing for the past 2 years and I need to give that stuff a break).

Anyhow, I wash or co-wash on the weekends. Trying to work on the protein/moisture balance. I blow dry and then flat iron weekly but my plan is to eliminate some heat, so I'd love to learn how I can rollerset at this lenght. Do they sell rollers this small? I gotta check for that. Anyhow...that's where I am with mines.

oh and for the confusion, what i did was feel my collarbone. then i felt my shoulders. I guess i thought shoulder length was when your hair touches your shoulders but i'm sure people have all kinds of definitions for it. no matter what, collar or shoulder... i'm just trying to get this earlength hair to touch something! lol

I'm in! I'm just at nape length now. Would like to get to shoulder length by end of summer. I'm setting my expectations a little lower so I wont be too disappointed. I'm still trying to find a regimine that works.

Just checking to see how everyone is doing. I have increased my water intake and cardio even more so hopefully my hair will start reaping the benefits. Now if only I could do better with my vitamins(I just hate taking pills of any kind it seems).

I could kick myself for not having found this board sooner. Imagine being in my 30's and not having a clue as to why my hair would never grow past my ears. I just started my Aphogee regimen and I relaxed with Mizani Butter Blend (AMAZING!). Im going to make an effort to moisturize and keep my ends protected. I can already see the breakage has almost stopped.

If that is you in your siggy, I can see why you wore it short! You look pretty with it. Enough of the compliments, so you can reach your goal.

I flat ironed my hair, ladies and I am almost touching the bottom of my neck. My hair is layered, which is fine me(I like layers). I will post pictures here for my one year anniversary in March. I want to start bunning, but I get tempted want to play with my hair, so I may go back to cornrowing. I am almost 5 months post relaxer and counting.

Last night ive relaxer my hair with ors regular.... After i shampoo, apply 2 min recon aphogee, then dc for 20 min.... My hair is coming along great

stretched the back of my hair is hitting the bottom of my neck...I haven't straightened my hair in close to a year. I will straighten for my 1year anni in May. Hopefully I would have reached full neck length.

I have added Chlorella to my regimen and will start taking biotin again next Month.

Hey girl! I've been sticking with Dessign Essentials. I used this for my last two touch ups but I went to the shop to get them done. She does such a good job and it hasn't burned or scabbed at all.

Count me in too please. I am currently ear length, natural/transitioning (a few stray relaxed ends I haven't had a chance to chop off yet) and in a sew in for another couple of weeks. My hair grows super slow, but i'm hoping to be full CL by December.

I'm definitely in! My hair reaches to the middle of my ear on the sides and the tip of nose in the front. It just started touching my neck in the back, lol. I didn't want to keep cutting it close in the back until it grew out so I'm just letting it all grow out at one time. I hope to be full neck length by the end of this year.

My Regimen
Wash weekly with Garnier Fructis Moisture Works shampoo
Condition with Garnier Fructis Moisture Works Condish & Aphogee 2 Min every other week
Deep Condition with Pantene Relaxed and Natural Intensive Moisturizing Condish
Infusium 23 Leave In Conditioner & Aphogee Keratin and Green Tea Restructurizer
Aphogee 2 Step every 6 weeks (that number will more than likely change once I'm able to get braids)
Relax every 8 weeks (or longer with braids) with ORS Olive Oil relaxer

As far as protective styling goes....I go back and forth between a wig and a phony pony. I can do the phony pony at this length because I use brown gel. I know some ppl don't like hard styles and all but it has really helped me in obtaining the length that I have now. Have you seen the coffee and tea rinse threads? Well I put instant coffee in my brown gel and its had the same effect, for me at least, as doing the rinse. So until I get some braids, which I hope will be in April, I will continue to do this. I'm also participating in the KISS challenge so I dont use direct heat too much...only on my relaxer days do I blow dry and flat iron. I guess that's it

Hi!! can i join?

My current regimen is:

Wash once a week with :yes to carrots (added some tea tree oil in it)
reconstructer(protein): aphogee
DC: cholesterol or yes to carrots mask(heaven!!!), depends on how my hair feels
Leave-ins: (not all at once but depending on how im going to wear my hair) salerm 21 B5, ntm silk touch serum, garnier curl relaxing cream, aphogee green tea keratin spray and provitamin, evoo

Co wash 2 to 4 times a week with herbal essences contionners(BO and LTR)

air dry when cowashing, under the dryer once a week, flat iron every 2weeks.

Other hair stats is in my siggy

Is there a reveal date?? Any rules for this challenge or are we free for all?



Moisturize daily with elasta gp MB, evoo

Hi ladies! I'd like to post my 2 month progress, i would really like to be chin length by June. I'm staying in braids for the first 6 months or so as a protective style. Right now I'm still a little above the ear, cant wait until i reach below the ear.....this is almost too depressing sometimes, but eventually I will get there.
