Any 4a/b's swear by either Kerastase or Mixed Chicks?

I hear so much about Mixed Chicks and Kerastase.

Have any of you had much experience with the conditioners? Are they GREAT?

Please post your pros and cons.

Thanks.

I have a lot of experience with Mixed Chicks. For a wash and wear on 4A natural hair.....don't do it. I get the biggest, stickiest and stiffiest afro with it in the world. Your hair won't shrink...but it will be stiff.

On my daughter's hair...she's a 3 something. Elongated, fluffy curls but still with a bit of stiffness.

I have the shampoo, conditioner and leave-in. For my hair, regardless how less I use, and I have mixed with castor oil once to try to help counter stiffness...but no luck.

Thanks for responding.

There isn't anything "mixed" about my hair. I didn't think it would really work for me.

Left with samples before I actually purchased it. Wanted to check with the ladies on the forum first.

I love Kerastase and swear by their products whole heartedly 1000000%.:yep: I was an avid Aveda user for a long time until a friend of mine (who is Asian with gorgeous 3b hair) recommended it to me. I haven't looked back since.:creatures I use many of the different lines depending on my hair's needs (I'm 4a lightly texlaxed and over 6 months post, possibly transitioning). I have zero breakage now, my hair in it's curl wash-and-go state is soft, shiny and curls beautifully with very few tangles.

I highly recommend Masqueintense for Thick Hair, for a truly deep moisturizing conditoner, Ciment Thermique for a heat protectant that also acts as a protein treatment, the Oleo Relax line for getting sleek straight styles, and Elasto-Curl Creme for wash and go's. Worth.Every.Penny.:love3:

I've had pretty good results with mixed chicks but i don't like the price tag. Kerastase?:nono: Way too much for me to even try it to like it:look:

I LOOOOOOOOOVE Kerastase products. The Ciment Thermique is my bestest friend. I love the way the products make my hair feel. I use Age Recharge Mask and matching shampoo; Masquintense for Fine hair and matching shampoo, Oleo Relax Mask, Oleo Relax Serum, Oleo Relax Elixir, Ciment Antiusure (sp.), and the matching shampoo ...forgot the name.

I am a 4 a/b and the shampoos make my hair feel really good. The top half of my hair is 100% natural and the roughest section of my head and I am still able to comb through my hair after shampooing. I love the smell of their products, definitely distinct.

You do not need to use alot of the product either. I don't o'd on it like I do with other products -- you just don't need to. The age recharge mask smells sooooooo good and the smell stays in your hair.

Even if you only use it once/week, it will last you for atleast three months so it's worth.

I made a few videos documenting the differences of using Kerastase vs. other products (including my beloved Paul Mitchell) and Kerastase blew them all out of the water. I am working on getting them up on my youtube page. But the link in my avatar is my hair after using Kerastase products and flat ironing. That section of my hair is 100% natural and is 4 a/b.

thanks ladies. I may have to satisfy my curiosity & try Kerastase just once.

think I'll pass on mixed chicks

I recently bought mixchicks and used on a wash andgo and I liked it....I am relaxed though so I don't know. I didn't feel the stiffness or stick feeling ..........it made my hair fuller and the texture more defined.........I like it!

I'll have to use it again to see but so far I can say I have also tried Curly pudding; this I like after 10 week or so and it givens a nice hold; not stiff not frizzy; I can mold my ends with this much better than mix chick conditioner

just seems like all the women in mixed chicks ads have that mixed texture hair.

mine isn't so I don't think it will work 4 me.

I love Kerastase. I have probably used just about everything in the entire line. I lucked up last year and the salon had a buy buy2 get 1 free sale.

It's one of the only haircare line that actually does what it says it's good for, at least from my experience.

My favourites are :Bain3, Oleo-Curl :Curl definition cream(excellent for braidouts), ciment Thermique(great for flat ironing), oleo serum(not using it as much now. Now that I am further into my transition i discovered my hair wants a heavier serum), Age Recharge( ...especially for the ends :lick:), Bain Oleo-Relax, Nutridéfense Spray (very good)

Pros: It does exactly what it says it's good for!

Con: there's so little conditioner and depending on the length of your hair :ohwell: ...

opps ... I just read your post carefully .... 4a/b's. I think I'm 3c .... I won't delete my post in case it's helpful to you or someone else.

I love, Love, LOVE Kerastase products. I used them exclusively for about 2 years.:yep:

The price tag eventually got to be too much though so now I have them in rotation with cheaper products but they are wonderful!:yep:

I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Kerastase. I always find myself coming back to them. They leave your hair so light and healthy looking. They make my strands seperated (if that makes any sense), and I love that. My favs are Bain 3, Lait Vitale, Age Recharge and Ciment Thermique.

I like the Bain Satin 3 shampoo, Masquintense for fine hair and the Oleo Relax conditioners. The products make your hair feel silky straight and you don't have to sit under the dryer to get great results.

I was planning to mix the Masquintense with the Oleo Relax this weekend. Has anyone tried this combo before?

before i started to relax...i was using Kerastase religiously and i loved the results and whenever i went to the salon the ladies always complimented me on the health of my hair and when i whipped out the bottle...they all shook their head as if to say they understood why:yep::yep:... i stopped using it because of the price and i got tired of trying to bid on ebay b/c that took up too much time.....

but i think i am going to go back to it (both the shampoo and the masquintense) .....just gonna have to find the money...:yep:....b/c i really dont care for any of these other products that the ladies on here recommend

Get it girl. I'm sitting here under the dryer with age recharge on my hair. The smell is soooo intoxicating. :spinning: I just love my hair when I use Kerastase products on it. The Ciment Thermique is my all time favorite of any product that I have EVER used to flat iron.

People always say that the Loreal products in Sally Beauty Supply are the same but I have tried them all and there is a big difference in the way my hair comes out.

There's not much else that compares to Kerastase (though a couple of things are really close). My hair is always beautiful and healthy when I use it.

Some people ask why you don't just use Loreal. I've tried "store" brand loreal and it just doesn't compare, no matter how I use it or what I add to it. I actually tried those before the Kerastase, because that's what was available to me.

Yes, the smell is delicious :lick: . "Someone" always sniffs my hair when I use it ....

I was reading this site like the prices can't be that bad. Then I went to the site :nono:

I still might try it though

I did an all kerastase wash this morning. Washed with satin bain 3, conditioned with lait protein vitale, and used ciment thermique and oleo relax serum as a leave in. Air dried till about 90% dried and used my wet to dry iron to finish. Added a little more serum after bumping the ends. My hair feels so soft, moisturized, and has swing

I don't always get those results though, it depends on what I used. Last wash I conditioned with anti-ensure (sp?), for leave-in I layered the nutritive mousse, substance constructive, ciment thermique. My hair looked the same but felt drier, especially the ends. Guess 3 protein products was an overkill :ohwell:
