For those of you that have had yarn braids or twists before how easy was it for you to put a bun in or keep it up? I need to be able to wear my hair up often and if its gonna be heavy I need to know before I put them in. I'm planning on starting them in two days.

They're not heavy at all. The only thing to worry about is tension if the braids are too tight. As long as they've been put in your hair properly there won't be any problems with weight. They're very light actually (as long as they're not wet).

Chameleonchick The only time your braids will feel heavy is when you wash them since they retain water.

I use a big sock/stocking bun ( I will find a tutorial for you). It looks like this, but bigger

I would say probably APL. I did mine just short of APL and they were just short of being able to make a decent looking bun.

I installed yarn braids a few times last year and the are very light and easy to put in a bun. Mine were about bsl and I would put them in a loose bun bringing two clumps from the hair line by the ears and tying in the back of my head then bringing another two pieces a little farther from the hair line and tying below the first knot and the stuffing the rest of the braids into hair "basket" to make a nice plum low bun.
