CH, Also look into weave hair from His & Her (hisandher.com/). Here's one of th curlies ( zig zag )
I've worn some of their curly hair and CW everyday. My hair was consistently damp or wet for about a month and thrived.
I have a question for ya, since you are full of information!
I would love to make my own fall/quick weave. I was trying to figure out how to make it so it's not as wide as a wig, but not as small as a pony, do you know what I mean?
I thought about doing what you said for making a regular wig: putting on a plastic cap, putting a wig cap over that, and then applying the hair in an oval/circular pattern so that the hair would come to the point that I would put the quick weave on. Then, sew in the attachment combs, and voila! Does that make any sense?
Makes perfect sense to me. But the thing is, does a wig cap stretch? I've never seen one before, so forgive me.
But, even if it doesn't, as long as it's able to cover the part of your head that you want to cover, your plan sounds great. I personally would want it to stretch though.
I never made one before, so I dunno if a wig cap stretches! What I need to find is the lace netting that the "pros" use to make quick weaves. Then, I could try to sew one. We'll see. . .
