I try not to post a new thread unnecessarily but I just had to this time. I am soooo in LOVE with this Silk Elements relaxer. :clapping: I'm about 3 weeks post and my hair is so silky and my edges are still flat and smooth. With my other relaxers I could barely get past the first wash b4 I saw curly roots and rough edges. I couldn't stretch past 8 weeks. I'm trying so hard not to give in to the pj-ism and I've curbed it ALOT but I really needed a new relaxer. I definitely see a future with this relaxer. I'm so excited. :clapping:  Thanks lhcf ladies.

Me, too!! Im also 3 weeks post, and my hair is still silky and straight!! Im in love! For my last relaxer(Elasta qp mild), by the third week my roots were already puffy, just a mess!! But Im in love; I used the Megasilk lye in regular. What kind did you use??

You think the relaxer is good....wait till you try their other stuff  I purposely stay out of Sally's because I WILL buy something from that line

*leaving this thread - I'm gettin the itch!!*

I'm three weeks post as well and my edges are still laying down  . I also noticed that my hair feels thicker and not as dry.

BIG CO-SIGN on this one:) I absolutely love this relaxer too. My hair is still silky and Im almost 4 weeks post. At first I thought my hair stopped growing cuz I couldnt depict my new growth from my pre-relaxed hair, but luckily I have a semi-color in Jet black and my roots are sandy-reddish brown so I was finally able to calm down and say "yes" girl your hair is still growing, lol.
My hero, my keeper Silk Elements Mega silk w/ shea butter relaxer!!!!

Yeah me, too!! I thought my hair wasnt growing because my roots are like the pre relaxed hair. Thats so crazy!! But I am in love, and I know for a fact that this will be my new relaxer.;)

i'M ALREADY CONFUSED AS IT IS -SEE BELOW IN MY SIGGY. AARGGH

SO THAT IS WODERFUL- DID IT BURN YA'LL?

ANY SENSITIVE SCALP PARTICIPANTS WANT TO COMMENT?

I love the SE relaxer and the whole line. It never burns and my hair is uper soft and moisturized and I'm 4 weeks post. I'm never going to change from this relaxer.

I also used regular lye.

@ nomoweaves:
Yeah it burned me but not as bad as usual. Just in my nape where I used the brush earlier. I left mine on for 26 min. and it did get to the point where I had to wash it out fast but I didn't get hair-stick-to-the-scalp burns.

I'm really trying hard not to be a pj or jump on any more bandwagons. Y'all make it so hard. I have little self-control sometimes. But this was an exellent bandwagon to jump on and this time it worked for me. Thanks y'all.

thanks for response. I'm just so confused with this. The product sounds great, I'm just so scared of burning!!!!!

The reason i want to try aside from the great reviews is because Im already on lye and was leary on switching to no lye. Pray that I will make the correct decision.

I might have to lay hands on the relaxer and get the unction of the Holy Ghost before I get it.

Congrats and welcome to the club! my ends are still pretty texlaxed and has lots of texture. I'm happy, my hair is not dry and I don't really have to do too much to maintain my moisture levels which is a good thing this time of year. My edges have grown out though, I've been getting alot of growth lately...I'm not complaining! The part of my hair that got bone straight is still very straight and silky and not dry.

I went to my local Sally BS and they only had the box no lye version. Was that just a fluke? I was in a hurry and didn't have time to question, the attendant didn't look like she was much of an expert on relaxers. If I buy the kind shown in the picture above, which type of neutralizer and conditioners should I get to go with it? I've heard people say in other threads they didn't like the products that come with SE to complete the relaxing process.

Thanks!!

I'm surprised that only the no lye version was available. Every Sally's I've been in has all of the SE ly relaxers stocked up. They have the mild, regular, etc. In big sizes and small sizes. If you are currently on a lye relaxer go to another Sally's and look for lye Silk Elements. I used the Proclaim neutralizing shampoo and all of my regular conditioners - Elasta QP, Neutrogena NTM. I mix so much stuff up for my conditioners. lol

I had the same issue when I went to Sally's yesterday. All they had was the no lye box set in regular and coarse. Since learning that I have thin, fragile hair, I think it would be best to use mild. I can't find it though:confused:

This is some good stuff:lachen: :lachen: :lachen: When I saw my "skunk spot" I knew that I was still growing, but the thickness and silkiness is amazing:eek: I have never had a relaxer feel this good!!!

The hair mayo, anti breakage cream, and mega cholesterol are super too;)
