Will my natural NG and my texlaxed ends take the color differently when I dye my hair?? I just had a daymare about orange roots and nice brown ends...:lachen::nono:

Technically yes but remember that your roots are closer to your scalp and produce heat. Heat will help the color process faster so your result should still be uniform. Also, hair naturally gets lighter down the shaft so your the nuances in your result should still mimic natural hair color.

Oh jesus, i'm scared.

Gym, i got the ORS as u and others suggested in my other dye thread, new question, should I even bother using hte color that came w/ feria first??

Don't be scared :sneakyhug: You usually don't see completely whacky things like that happen unless people are color extremely damaged hair which isn't you.

Alot of people like the feria conditioner so you can use it if you like. It won't hurt. I know Tracy, the old member here that is the color goddess used to like it alot.

::deep breath::

OK well, it's on my head now so no turning back.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your help :)

I'm screwed.
the natural hair is significantly lighter than the texlaxed ends :(
SIGNIFICANTLY!!!!!
I tried to take pix but the pics come out too dark to accurately show the color difference. :(

I totally had an "i should just BC to make it all one color" moment

:(

Is your hair dry yet Whimsy?

What color is it?

Also, did you pile the hair on top of your head as you processed? And where did you start the color application/

i'm DCing now :( not dry yet. i'm going to braid it up and let it airdry overnight.
i started in the back and then did the right side and then the left side of the front.
i kinda wrapped the back into a loose bun while i did the other sections. then when i was waiting my 25 mins to let it develop it was on top of my head in a loose bunnish situation.

I used feria 45 it was supposed to be a nice chocolatey brown. my roots are a reddybrown but light, IMO too light for my skin tone and the ends look like my original darkest brown with a hint of a chocolatered shine to it...

oh my god nevermind. i looked at it again and it's not as light as it seemed before. the 2 textures are def not the same color but it doesn't look as retarded now.

You won't really know the full result until its dry. When you color hair, sometimes its best not to pile it on your head, especially if you are going lighter because it will concentrate your body heat on your roots causing what they call hot roots. That is when the body heat has accelerated the color process so that the roots are lighter than the rest. The up side for you is that this is easy to fix. Next week, go get some semi permanent color in a shade similar to what you wanted. Apply it with a tint brush like relaxer to the spots that need the most toning. HTH

No problem girl. I learned from experimenting on my on head. We won't talk about that

Just pm me with anything else. Its going to be okay, seriously. Also remember that the healthiest sections of hair will pick up the most warmth and the more damaged parts will pick up more coolness out of the dye. That is also one reason why it looks the way it does now. Its nothing you can't adjust though.
