Dear Dude who made this Maxiglide....

I hate you
Love HB84

J/k... I just got mine today.. and i straightend my hair.. I love it soo much i need to be ashamed of myself.

I straightened by washing and extra DCing the day before, then did a braid out to dry... i stretched my hair as much as possible b4 i did it.. I then took thin sections and used the heat protecant/anti frizz they sent ... It was ok, i guess.. But the big thing i did was detangle.. I did a lot of it just to makesure the teeth didnt catch on my hair... i think thats a big thing and how you can lose hair... So, i went over eachh section twice, on number 5 heat setting...

My hair hasnt been this straight since i went to the Egyptian salon, Ossamas.... OMG it is so soft and swingy.. no burnt smell or anything.. I love it...

I plan to try to use heat maybe 2 a month if that.. I want to make sure i keep the progress i have made thus far...

Pics are coming...

Exciting! Can't wait to see your results. I am getting ready to try mine in the next hour!

See ever since I got my Chi in 2006, I stopped using my Maxiglide that I got in 2005! Maybe I should pull it out and dust it off.....

Ok, y'all need to stop w/ the maxiglide, ooh la la stuff. LOL

I never use heat b/c I hate the way my hair smells after flat ironing (kinda burnt). Also, it takes forever, but in all fairness, I've never owned a quality flat iron. Now I want one just to see if I can learn to do it right. I'm so tempted...... :(

Congrats on the great result, OP.

Osama's I hope that is not the one in Chicago because even when I walk by that place you can smell burning hair.

Hyde Park. Where else where every other Salon is Egyptian Run

5100 South Cornell. I am not saying the do a bad job. They get you in and get you out. Not like some of the stories I have read on her about people waiting 5 hours or all day to get their hair done. In at 9:00 out at 7 cuz the hairdresser was talking to her boo and smoking weed in the back while she is getting ready for a Harold's Chicken Run. They use a lot of heat you look good when you are done and it is quick they don't play around but they are really heavy on the heat.

Where at in Chicago?

Never been to Ossamas. I was a Yehia girl. They do use A LOT of heat but its no different than the Dominicans that everybody rave about on this board.

OP, how are you going to post a thread saying there are pics and there aren't any pics. Haven't we all learned our lesson from Adora. I kid... well not really but I just don't want you think I'm being mean. :look:

ETA: I lied. I have been to Ossamas once. Horrible experience.

At the bolded:

Yes I was just thinking the same thing. They dont do the Rollers like the Domincans they just run at you with straight heat but the results are basically the same and a lot faster

I went to Yehia once. It was the second (and last) time I ever went to the salon. The first was prom fyi. Anyway, my hair came out looking great, but she used so much heat that my hair felt like it was in shock. I will probably never go again.

I'm sorry, am I thread jacking? Gotta talk about something while waiting for pics:wink2:

umm...pic plz.... i'm waiting for my maxi to come in the mail just like i'm waiting for yo pics, lol
