who here is using them and are you satisfied with them? I found a website called www.indiaplaza.com that sells all the hair oils for reasonable prices. B4 I jumped in and started usin them, I just wanted to get y'alls opinions

I really like the amla...wasn't crazy about the vatika. Probably because my hair is not crazy about coconut oil.

I use the Vatika oil, and it's pretty good. I usually put it on my ends at night. It gives my hair a nice shine too. I used Amla oil once, as a pre-poo (overnight), and aside from smelling awful, I'm not sure what it did, or what it was supposed to do.

I actually think my Amla oil smells just like the grease my momma use to use on my hair when I was a kid. It was okay. It didn't give any miraculous results. I think I am better to heat up some other type of oil and use it.

I agree with that...I really think EVOO as a prepoo is better :look:

Wow!! I'm shocked but I'm using my Amla oil faithfully and loving every day of it so if ya'll have bottles you want to part with...drop me a pm!!

I love indian oils!!!However, I do not use them as a pre-poo, I use it as a carrier oil to seal in my leave-in and moisturizer. I love the way it makes my hair silky and shiny. The strong perfumey smell doesn't bother me at all and after a while the scent goes away. I use Dabur amla oil, jasmin oil, Ancient formula castor oil and Dabur vatika coconut oil. These are staples in my regime.

I love Amla oil! However, the site is high! I only pay $1.79 for 200 ml at the Indian Store. The same brand on the site cost $7.99...Yikes!

Hey Classy, that's the same way I've been using mine when I'm bunning and protective styling!! I CO Wash, apply some Rivas Silicon Mix as a leave in, then the Amla Oil. I apply some Sampoorna Oil for Shine after my hair has 'set' for shine.

D-E-F-I-N--I-T-E staples for me.

JAmericanGurl, you got GREAT prices on yours!!

Well when you need some stuff you can PM me a list and I'll go shopping for you. The Vatika Coconut oil is like $3.49. Me buying and shipping it to you is still cheaper than that site.
Honestly if you have an Indian store in your area stop in...The prices are all about the same.

How good is the Jasmine Oil? What is the base--mineral oil, or something else? Also does it smell good?

(sorry for all the questions  )

Yepper peppe!! Lovin the Amla and Sampoorna! (I'm still trying to find a use for the Vatika...I can't feel that one but my mom loves it! :ohwell:).

Thank you for the compliment! He's the cutie though! Nope, not Lola, actually it says 'LaLa' short for LaNecia LaShawn. (he's a SouthPaw so his handwriting is funny). Yeah, my mom went La Crazy.

Vixxen you HAVE to try KALAKOLA I'M IN LOVE

There are apparently no Indian stores in all of Phoenix so after many dead end trips, I ordered Amla oil from From Nature with Love. Their brand is labeled unscented and has a very slight floral smell. For those of you who like what it does but not the smell you may want to try their brand. I think it's amla and sesame oil. I mix it with a little emu oil, rosemary oil and nettle oil and it smells pretty good!

It's ok hon. I don't mind answering.:) I really like it because of the shine it gives my hair. I am not quite sure what other way my hair benefits from it as of yet because I just started using it. Unfortunately, my bottle doesn't have any ingredients listed on it and it wasn't in a box when I purchased it. It smells like amla oil, very perfumey, but it has a mild sweeter scent than amla oil IMO.

Here is the only info I found on it:

For hundreds of years the enchanting fragrance of Jasmine has held people spellbound. Jasmin Hair Oil, from Dabur, has the same fragrant goodness of Jasmine that gives hair a new life and makes it long, thick and beautiful. Suitable for vegetarians.

Bumpin' this up...

Thanx for your reply. I tried the Dabur Amla oil, and I like it. It leaves my hair soft, and the smell's not so bad (wish it weren't so strong). One of these days, I'll try the Jasmine oil. :)

I just order 3 bottles of Amla oil. I'm so excited. My hair is braided and I'm planning to drench them and poo. :D

Where'd you order your amla from? I ordered mine from indiaplaza.com--not sure if I could've gotten it cheaper elsewhere.... :look:

I see that you are in New York, there are indian stores on Lexington Avenue that sell indian oils. My last purchase was from Kalustyan's 123 Lexington Avenue. However, in another thread someone had mentioned another store in the same area that had cheaper prices. Maybe you can try purchasing from that store instead of purchasing online and dealing with shipping and handling.

I used Amla oil for over a year, my hair looked and felt great but that smell was awful, when I finished that bottle, I didn't go looking for any more.
