Am I the only one...

Who doesn't CW? I read about all the benefits and have even tried it, but it would only work if I had all day to let it dry. Sometimes I feel like I am missing out when it comes to that.

WOW! I was thinking the same thing as I have been reading the threads lately. I have never CWed and I don't think it will work for me much. I feel like it may be too much manipulation for my hair so I just stick to washing once a week. It's like every time I see a thread or post about co-washing, I have to skip over it :( b/c I don't do it. I want to try though, but I'm afraid that my hair might hate me for it. :ohwell:

I didn't like it at first because it would make my scalp break out. I found that mixing the conditioner with a lot of water stops it... I think because it leaves much less buid-up.

Good idea, Porsche! :)

I don't mind the wet head :) If I really want my hair to be dry for the next day I just do it at night and let it dry while I sleep.

It's not so much manipulation for me, since I do a sorta wash and go style.

I don't do it on a regular basis. Only when I'm frequently washing my hair. For example, it was feeling DRY as the sahara on Tuesday, so that night, I CO'd, but Wednesday night I poo'd and con'd like normal and rollerset.

I wish that I could. I have a conditioner that would work well for this, but I would have to start applying heat to my hair everyday and messing with it to make it look decent - not happening.

I was thinking that I would stop with co-washes for the same reason - too much manipulation. Especially after 9 weeks post. I have learned the hard way that my hair just wants to be LEFT ALONE - or else... the tangles, matted roots, knotted ends, and breakage... TOO MUCH DRAMA. So, now that my hair is showing major improvement (only about 10 shed strands per day), I am cutting out the co-wash and adding in more applications w/ a good leave-in cond. But I will continue with the baggie.

i tried the CWing thing and it just wasn't happening. I just was shedding to much hair, and I think it's just too much to do it everyday. My hair is loving poo then DC every 4days. I even started a challenge that consisted of CW every 4 days and failed my own challenge, LOL, it was suppose to stop breakage but in my case it brung it along. I guess differents strokes for differents strands, if ya know what I mean.

This is exactly what happened to me ;)

When I first tried CW my hair was hard and unmanageable. I now think the culprit was the conditioner I used, not the CW itself. A year later, I tried it again because my hair was really dry and nothing else was helping. I don't do them everday, though. I poo every Sunday and will CW on a Wednesday if my hair needs it. Afterwards, I rollerset or braid and sit under the dryer so I don't have the wet hair issues.

You may be surprised. I love conditioner washes. I did them when I was relaxed too.
