Alter Ego

I'm experiencing a lot of shedding lately and want to try Alter Ego to help. But I'm having a hard time figuring out which Alter Ego product is the one that so many people rave about. I see this is an expensive product and I'd hate to buy the wrong one.

Is it the Alter Ego Garlic Hair Treatment, the Mask, or the Garlic Oil Treatment?

Believe it or not they all have maybe on small ingredient or two on the list that makes no difference usually at all. All years apart. Go figure!

I used the top two and a friend of mines uses the mask all smell the exact same.

I agree with JJamiah. I believe at one point the packaging changed.

I actually used that today. I wrapped Saran Wrap around it, 2 Plastic Caps, a Wig, Cap and my Wig and used it while at work.

For shedding use the Alter Ego conditioner with the picture of the Garlic clove on the outside. It's the best one in my opinion.

Regarding the Hot Oil Treatment, usually I do Hot Oil before shampooing, but the jar says to use it after like a conditioner. How do you ladies use it?

I was considering using it before the shampoo just in case there is a smell.

I use as directed following my shampoo. It works perfectly every time.

ETA - it is called a hot oil treatment, but it is actually a deep conditioner. I found the scent to be pleasant, but not overwhelmingly so.

I've used it before and after shampoo. Sometimes i just apply to my scalp and another DC to my length. The scent is nice and clean to me.

I apply it to my roots and my scalp and then another DC to my ends. I apply after I clean my hair.
