Alter Ego

I use the ego cren, I'm not sure if it's the one causing less shedding. Lately I've been using it sparadically and not after every wash. I also do the garlic shampoo, which is known to cause less shedding for most of the females here.

Which one of these products are good for shedding, is it both?
The Alter Ego Hot Oil or the Curativ Ego Cren

To be honest, I haven't tried either one. For me, aphogee in the purple bottle, (or pink can't remember at the moment) along w/ the aphogee conditioner work miracles for me. I have only used them, and every time that protein tx works. I know that you can get them at sally's for like $4-5. Might want to look into that too. When you have a shedding issue, that usually means there's a protein problem. I know for myself I do protein tx 4x per year just to keep things in perspective. One can have too much protein (excessive shedding,hard/brittle hair that breaks to the touch) or not enough protein (chemical services color/perming, heat dmg, no moisture) and it breaks as well. You need to find that balance. I haven't hear of an oil that can address that problem. If you do a protein tx, you must follow up w/ a deep conditioning, to help in restoring that balance. That's why I talked about the aphogee conditioner. I helps. After I do the protein tx, then follow up w/ the protein conditioner, I do a dc tx, w/ sunsilk mixed w/ all kinds of other stuff, or elasta qp dpr-11 mixed w/ other stuff. Good luck to you!

I've used both products. The Ego Cren did nothing for my shedding, the Garlic Hot OIl helped substantially.

I have been using the Alter Ego Garlic Treatment for 2 weeks. It seems to be helping, so I will continue to use it hoping to get maximum results. I have never tried the other product.

I've just started using the Garlic treatment (2x so far) and it seems to work well. Garlic is known to be best for shedding. I've also used the Cren for years. It works very well and helped me at a time that my hair was at it's worst. The Dominicans put this in my hair prior to rollersetting. If you have to choose only one for now, try the Garlic treatment first.

Another good product for shedding is to rub cinnamon oil (aceite de canela) into your scalp daily. It helps to strengthen your hair. The Dominicans apply it with a cotton ball, but I usually apply it with the dropper from an old Cren bottle. HTH.

I completely agree. I have the cinammon oil as well. It smells great! I havent been using it tho its just collecting dust. I thought I was the only one! But for me the AE Cren with Menthol worked best.

I actually forgot all about my cinnamon oil until I saw it hidden away last night. I've been so busy buying evoo and JBCO that it was placed on the backburner. LOL. It has really helped me in the past, so I'm going to start using it again today. I'm having some shedding issues as well.

Where can this oil be purchased? Any vendors online?

I'm not sure where you could get it online. Does your local BSS carry oils? If they do, you might find it there. I usually get mine from local BSS and my hairdresser sells it as well.

I tried this product this past weekend as a part of my use it up challenge and I was sorely disappointed with it. It did nothing for my hair! I will try it one more time but it was not moisturizing at all, I paid so much for it and it didn't really do a thing...discouraging.

The Cren stopped my shedding immediately. I bought the sample & ended up ordering the full size the next day & paid for overnight delivery. (yes it was that good).

As far as the hot garlic conditioner, it was garbage for me...left my hair hard & tangled.
