Normally I relax around week 12 or more but now at week 9 my new growth is unbearable at an inch and a half even 2 inches at some places. Maybe it's the warm weather. Should I go ahead an relax like i usually do or keep holding off?

I'm not one to strictly adhere to a relaxing schedule, but rather I perm on a needed basis. I normally try to wait 6wks, but if my newgrowth is unbearable at 4 then I perm. You shouldn't do any damage if you relax now as opposed to waiting. Just make sure you do only the new growth.

if there is to much breakage. you should relax. holding off will only cause more damage

I fourth what was already said! If you can't rectify this by more moisture or doing protective styles, or you just would rather relax now, go for it! 1.5-2 inches should be plenty to avoid overlapping. Good luck with whatever you decide
