Aloe Vera gel, Glycerin and Shea butter: Do these work well on relaxed hair?

Many of the ladies that rave about these products seem to be naturals. I want to move towards more natural products, but I was wondering if these products worked well on relaxed hair. And what do they do?
Any experiences?

You can mix AVG with your moisturizing DC - I get really good results with it. I've never tried shea butter to moisturize the ends, only blended with other oils for a hot oil treatment. Quite a few ladies have homemade concoctions with shea butter posted over on the recipe forum.

Shea butter works wonders on my ends.

And I plan on getting some glycerin to make some homemade relaxer-stretching sprays. :)

Aloe vera gel works great to lay my new growth down (with the help of a toothbrush). I've also been using glycerin with water instead of s-curl for about 6 months as a daily moisturizer and I like this as well. Bottom line is I think these are great products for relaxed hair.

I am relaxed and I use it... My hair loves the Aloe Vera Juice (not gel)as a Pre poo mixed with conditioner... I make my own Scurl with glycerin, distilled water, a smidgen of Sauve conditioner, a drop or two of my favorite oil my own Scurl works real good... I might try some AVJ in it... But most people use AVG/AVJ as a prepoo treatment....

When I'm stretching Aloe Vera Gel does a REALLY good job laying my edges down without buildup.

My hair HATES Glycerin by itself and if it's in the top 3 ingredients of a product I know it won't work well on my hair.

I tried Shea Butter and it did absolutely nothing for my hair, just sat on top of it. But I hear a lot of ladies are now melting it down and putting it in their DCs and they have had fantastic results. I would like to try the Shea Butter that way and see what my results would be.

I have been using this lately with wonderful results!

I spray my hair with my glycerin mix (glycerin, aloe vera gel, rose water, and panthenol) and seal with Porange's mix (shea butter, coconut oil and vitamin E). I then cornrow my hair and slap on my half wig.

When I take my cornrows out, they are so very moisturized! I have been doing this for about 1 month now.

I am sitting under the drier now, but last night I pre-poo'ed my hair with an Aloe Vera Gel, and olive oil mix, and also added it to my DC. I will post the results (keeping fingers crossed.) I am about 11 weeks post relaxer, and I hope this really helps with softening my NG.

Absolutely!

Shea butter is great for sealing.

Mixing glycerin into spritzes or DCs is great (but only in warmer months, it dries hair our in cooler temps).

Aloe is great for relaxer burns and adding strength. Be careful though, too much and you hair may behave as though it has protein overload. The gel form can also be used for styling and roller sets and setting braid outs on damp and dray hair.
