7 months of ULTRA COARSE 4a/4b newgrowth
My last relaxer was JUNE 18, 2008.
My hair type is definitely coarse, it took a super relaxer for the full processing time to get it to this point. It's hard to get my hair to absorb anything... including moisture and conditioners. The strands are thick and wiry.
My hair type is definitely 4a/4b. Cottony, tightly coiled, penspring/coffee stirrer sized.
I dunno, I just felt like posting because I see that some relaxed heads and transitioners struggling with their new texture. Someone posted that they have a little fro under their hair, someone posted that their scalp can't breathe because of their new growth. Maybe seeing the pics will help someone else.
This is from yesterday. 7 months post... about 2.75 in of newgrowth (hair has been growing in slow )
Anyways... here are the pics. No heat applied, just a braidout. The braidout stretches the roots. I can also do a rollerset to stretch the roots if I'm going for a straight look. It gets even straighter with a rollerset. If I can make THIS TYPE of hair manageable, anyone can You don't have to walk around with an ultra compact, air blocking, shrunken fro underneath the rest of your hair. Stretch it out for the love of kink!
Now for the pics...
My transition is going well. I can't wait to be fully natural. Hopefully 2009 will bring more of the same and MORE GROWTH!
