My hair started doing this. I didn't notice the severity of it because I wore my hair in twists as a protective styles.

Well, just this past week I realized the severity of all those little ends or curlies in the shower. I had to cut an inch. Really needed to cut more, but...

Couldn't figure out what was wrong and someone suggested protein. I thought my hair hated protein and only used moisture, moisture, moisture.

So, try a protein treatment. Let me know if it helps.

Protein if you find that is an issue for you, and also what stopped this for my natural hair was to exchange the comb for my fingers while detangling.

My hair does this too...I only detangle once every two months though. I really need to do a hardcore protein. I plan on buying Hairveda's new Methi and Dudley's DRC 28..over the next few months I will use both

I give you an A on your regiment....it looks good. Here is what i would think about though....your ends are breaking because something that you are using is drying them out and making them brittle...How often are you detangling your hair in the shower? and with what type of comb? Sometimes if our hair is already fragile and you comb it often it can just break the ends right off. Also, it may be time for a little trim... depending on how long its been, it might be good to start with nice blunt edges and then u can determine if it was actually the bad ends of your hair, or something in your regiment that you are doing.

As far as the growth what i would start doing is massaging your scalp daily or as often as possible, and since you have a great oil selection do it with the oils...DONT FORGET TO DILUTE them.

When I was natural it happen to me and I used Aubreys GPB, it was a miracle in a bottle for me.

I had to cut back my shampoo usage to once every two weeks (which is killing me) because shampoo in any form was not working for my hair in the winter. My ends are doing much better.

i have tried the finger combing thing and it doesn't work for my hair b/c my hair mattes and lock up. i will lose more hair when I detangle.

I second the protein treatment. And I don't mean to knock your regimen, but if it IS a product then chances are you might not know which one it is because you use so many...

Thanks for the A. I'm still working on my regimen.

To answer your questions...I detangle once a week only on wash day with a wide tooth comb loaded w/lots of confectioner...I dust my ends every few weeks...I massage my head every night with oils mixture...i take my vitamins every other day i find this works for me and my stomach. I am trying to find a good moisture to combat my dry ends. I may have to change up my regimen...thanks for responding.

This was happening to me and I couldn't figure out why. I got a professional trim and started using Aveda damage remedy and it's helped a lot. I also use Cantu Shea Butter now and I absloutely love it!!!

maybe its the shampooing once a week thats drying your hair out? does the mizani have sulfates in it?

Yes, I only use a dime size amount and shampoo once. After using this shampoo my has doesn't feel strip and is very soft. This what I stated using in the beginning of natural journey and my hair grew so fast, so I decide to go back to it.

I know I have heard less is more. I have cut back a lot from my old regimen..trust. I don't use all of the at one time. i usually rotate them. I'm new to this natural thing and I'm still trying figure this whole out, you know.
