I currently have pick&drop braids, in since just before Christmas. I am going to take them out Friday night. I was thinking of steaming and then pressing it on sat then put a full lace synthetic wig on.
How long will the wig last and where can I get one. I prefer that to human hair for a number of reasons including cost. I want to look polished and professional. My natural hair is a bout 10cm long and very dry and 'problematic'.

I would appreciate any comments on what I am about to do or suggestions for alternatives that work for you. Thanks

Another pic of my current style.

I appreciate any comments. E.g some years ago I would not have seen what is the problem with relaxing and bleaching hair on the same day. Now I know better but not about everything.

i dont have much advice as i wear neither braids or wigs ..... but....

considering you have been in braids for abt 2 months i think you should

1. shampoo, maybe clarify since you probably have buildup
2. light protein (im assuming you didnt get to do many or any DCs while in braids)
3. steam with moisture dc
4. corn row hair instead of pressing it

Hi there.
I personally would not press hair that has just come out of braids for that long. Your hair needs treating because it has been in braids. You could damage your hair pressing it that quickly after removing braids.

I would suggest you do a protein treatment and deep conditioner and get your hair rest. Maybe twist it or put it in a bun for a week or two before adding heat.

Also what do you mean by problematic? What are you having problems with? Also l don't understand the title to the thread. :-\

Why would you press your hair only to put a wig on top? You're bound to cause even more dryness and maybe even breakage by doing that. As others have suggested, you need to dc your hair and do some sort of moisturising treatment. In terms of wigs, have you tried going to Wembley, I don't think it's too far from you is it? There are plenty of hair shops there that should have a good selction of wigs.

I had this one which lasted me about 5 weeks, but I didn't look after it at all. Had I taken care of it, it probably would have lasted a lot longer.
