OK I'm getting a perm right before my birthday (VIRGOS in the house

) I am trying to figure out what would be best or a really bad idea. I'm trying to decide which one (apple cider vinegar rinse or a protein treatment AO GPB) to do right before a perm. As in - to do one right before a perm would be suicidal would be good to know as well.

I need as many opinions as possible - which would you do RIGHT before the perm (say 4 or 5 days) ACV rinse or protein. Does it even really matter? This would be my first ACV rinse but I feel that I need to start fresh because I've been using quite a few products and wanna get that all out.

Any tips/ help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx sweeties.

Protein is beneficical before a perm.

ACV rinses won't be bad, but they won't do anything special either. All they do is clarify the scalp and seal the cuticle. Depending on your head and scalp that could be a bad thing, or an unecessary thing - but it wouldn't be a helpful thing IMO.

I always use Aubrey Organics GPB about a week or two before I get a relaxer touch-up. Since I've been using a clarifying shampoo weekly, I no longer do acv rinses (may start them up again later on though). I agree with Tracy. Doing an acv rinse before a relaxer touch-up probably wouldn't be helpful.

Allandra, Tracy and Candibaby - thanx for the info. My concern was primarily about any chemical reactions that might occur. I haven't really done anything (protein or ACV rinse) right before a perm so I'm a bit nervous.
