watch out for the hair also they are probably messing with that too

I was in an ABS a couple of months ago and this lady was in there going off on them about this bag of hair she bought..I believe it was track hair but anyway, she was claiming that some of the hair was missing off the track and she wanted her money back. They were threatening to call the police on her and not wanting to give her a refund. She would not budge...she said call the police on her, she wanted her money back because they were gipping her and she didn't look like someone that would take hair out the bag and use it and try and return it...she was driving a nice car because she pulled right up to the door and parked with her hazard lights on. I felt sorry for her cause I could tell she had taken half her braids down when she realized the bag was missing some hair.

I went in an abs once and they did the same crap. Acting like I was a thief asking me if I wanted help, following me around. I have plenty of money and decided right then and there I would never support a business that doesn't support me! I took my money and left! How dare they treat their customers with such disrespect! :swearing:

That is scary! I use the Vitale relaxer for my hair and my daughter's. Sally's doesn't sell Vitale products! If the counterfiet is true, and I believe it is. Where would I purchase there products. The last time I relaxed my daughter's hair, it wasn't right. Her hair felt hard and it was a new jar of vitale.

Yeah, I brought some Hawaiian Silky from a local asian bss. I brought a mild at first because usually that is the strenght I use for this particular relaxer. It did not take( which I thought was odd), so I go get the regular strength six weeks later and it doesn't work either. I wait about two months and go and get a super strength. This didn't take well at all. By now I am thinking this is really weird because I normally have problems with getting my hair too straight. So anyway, when it is time to relax again I decided to switch perms to see if that helps. I get the Vitale life and body(this was my first time using this). It is regular strength. This did not take either. It has been about a month ago and I cannot get a comb through the roots. Well after thinking it over, I realized that every time I go in to get a particular hair product I'm always telling my daughter that the products look so old. The bottles and jars always have thick dust sitting on them, and once I picked up some shampoo and it looked as if it had seperated and turned colors. So I have decided that this could be the problem with the relaxers, maybe they are outdated and have lost their strength. Before all of this happened I was natural, and before that I used affirm.

The ABS's are getting an awful lot of heat here, when it's not only those stores- it's ANY store that is not an authorized dealer- like WalMart, RiteAid, Fred Meyer, Walgreens- whatever.
This is not new info (although it's a good thing this was posted because there is a shocking amount of people here who didn't know this!)- like the other posters said, that is why the disclaimer is on the back of the bottles, because they know counterfeits have flooded the market for yearrrrrs!
Obviously the bigger chain stores may buy from a reputable supplier, but you are taking the chance if you buy from them. If you buy from RiteAid, buy Clairol, if you want Joico, buy from the salon.:)

Okay, where should I buy my Mizani relaxer? Of course places like Sally's & Trade Secret don't carry it. Is my only other option to get a licensed cosmetologist to buy it for me directly from the manufacturer?

They mentioned on the news a few weeks ago about counterfeit products that are coming in from China. It was all kinds of products, deodorant, shampoo and the like. So as she said be very careful. China has been studying the U.S. market for years now and trying to flood every market within the U.S with their products, including counterfeits.

Slightly OT: I did a report on China's new economy and mentioned that most of our merchanidse comes from them but I didn't touch on the part about counterfeits...

The same thing happened to me but with Affirm relaxer. To this day I can't understand why people are raving about Affirm. I was even going to write an angry thread about my experience with Affirm. Maybe it was outdated or maybe it was counterfeit. I don't think I'll ever truly know. Thank you for this thread.

This is SO true and has been going on for years. Ladies, don't buy salon products any other place than a SALON. WTH would Nexus be selling in a GROCERY STORE? It's a shame that people think they're getting quality product at a discount, when all they're getting a is a fake. I still have no idea how the grocery/drug stores get away with this.

Salaam,

Thank's for the info, It's a shame what people will do just to make a couple $$$$$$$

But anythings possible the counterfit everything now...

You can buy it from Sheldeez.com Their store & salon are located a few minutes away from my job. I got mine there.

Is the drugstore Ok to buy from??? Like RiteAid or CVS? WHen I noticed Salon Prods in their about a yr ago, i thought it was Odd. I never relli used salon prods, so I didnt jump to buy them. ( I was a Pantene, Infusium, ORS type of girl) Now that I have learned about these prods on here I want to try them. (salon ones that is) Now I will never think of buying them there. I will go to a salon!
