So I had to share this because its been a long time since my hair has been soooo moisturized from a conditioner!:drunk: For the longest time my hair would only feel moisturized after a couple days of M&Sing and wrapping every night (which I do faithfully). But whenever I do my weekly DC, I would normally leave my conditioner on for 10-15 mins, but it ALWAYS felt like the conditioner was just siting on top of my hair and not penetrating. Which is weird because I remember a couple years back I actually had a moisture overload from deep conditioning too much, but lately I couldn't get the moisture to stick...

Anyway I posted on a thread a little while ago that I was having issues deep conditioning and got a few responses that suggested to check my porosity, try deep conditioning over night and etc... Last week I tried to deep conditioner over night with a baggy and scarf, and the minute I rinsed my conditioner out once again it felt like the moisture went with it. :perplexed

I started to question my products and porosity, but I have choose nothing but highly recommended products such as Natures Therapy Mega Moisture, Aussie 3 min, Silk Elements, and a few more. Well today was a gym day for me and I decided to try a new intensive conditioner treatment AND sitting in the Sauna at my gym with the conditioner in and a plastic bag over my head for 10-15mins ....LET ME TELL YOU my hair is SOOOOOOOOO SOFT!!!! This is the feeling I had been searching for!!!! As I was sitting in the sauna (sweating like a pig) I could FEEL my scalp tingling, almost like the conditioner was instantly penetrating my hair. My hair is so soft that I didn't have to straighten it to smooth my new growth, all I did was put on a heat protectant and blow dry on the LOWEST setting and my hair is so shiny and straight that I just decided to wrap it with out using anymore heat!

So I finally have the last piece of my regimen figured out! All my hair needed was a little heat to help the conditioners penetrate. And instead of having to buy a dryer or steamer I can get the same amazing effect after a workout at my gym. That way the heat is good for my body and my hair! :yep:

Sorry I know this is long but I just had to share my joy!!! Maybe I can put the straightner away for awhile and just blow dry on low.

This is the conditioner I used, my hair has always loved Argan Oil, and this only further proves that for me :grin::grin:

Also I read many reviews on this product and they all say to use heat in order to get great effects :) I'm a believer!!!

I want to try it, my hair is breaking off for some reason, maybe I will go to sallys tomorrow or maybe walmart. My hair really like Argan oil.

Yep heat will super-charge a DC :yep:

ETA: Does anyone have the ingredients for this DC?

Maayen

Aqua (Water) (Eau), Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Dicetyldimonium Chloride , Polyquaternium-32, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil) (Huile Minerale), Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Honey (Mel) (Miel), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Panthenol, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Lanolin Oil, Phenyl Trimethicone, PPG-1 Trideceth-6, Polyquaternium-10, Amodimethicone, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Wheat Starch , Isostearyl Ethylimidazolinium Ethosulfate, Parfum (Fragrance), Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Phenoxyethanol

If you search creme of nature Argan intensive conditioning treatment on here you'll see a lot of good reviews about it. It does contain mineral oil in it which is a nono for some people but for me as long as it's not in the top 5 ingredients and water is the first ingredient I'm ok with if. This is actually the ONLY product I own with mineral oil in it.....kinda like my dirty little secret lol :)

i don't know why but the bolded had me rolling
i'm really glad you posted this thread because i've been thinking about cutting deep conditioning out of my regimen (anything to save time). but after reading this, i think i'll just keep doing it. it's not a hassle and it seems to keep my hair happy :yep: glad to hear that your hair is back on track.

ps: your siggie makes me want to go get a trim Lol your ends are lovely

I recently discovered this too and I really like it. I love the shampoo too and yeah its sulfate free :yep:

Glad to hear you are having success with this. I just have the shampoo from that line, going this week to buy the conditioner and the leave -in. Sadly the oil moisturizer they have in this line left my hair dry looking after a couple of hours. But other then that I love the shampoo so far.

Have you (or anyone) tried the leave-in?

alive yes I now see why deep conditioning is essential because my hair is acting so good! Lol, I was really fighting having to get a trim (there is a before pic in my album, it was making a "w" shape) but I finally just went with it got my ends evened. In the end it was worth it and made it look healthier :yep: Thanks for the compliment!

Ps... Lol when I first entered the sauna I was thinking "how the hell am I gonna make it through 15 mins of this?!" haha it totally was worth it!

Thanks for this post LexaKing. After months of DCing for 1-2 hours per week w/o using heat, last week I decided to try using heat for about 20 minutes and my hair seemed stronger with less breakage. I'm still new in my HHJ and haven't quite learned to trust myself yet so it's good to have confirmation that heat can make a real difference.

Love Always I got it from Walgreens and have seen it at Sallys. Our walmart doesn't carry the creme of nature Intensive cond. only the shampoos.

cynd I'm glad I could help! Heat made a massive difference for me :yep: Even those of us who aren't new in our HHJ or already have regimens are STILL learning new stuff. That's why it's a journey ;)

thanks i uually dc overnight im to lazy to sit under the dryer but maybe i can do - min under my heating cap now:)

Thanks! I was just on the hunt for an OTC moisturizing DC. I don't want to use my powders before using heat on my hair.

And, you're right, that Aussie 3 min also just sat on top of my hair. I always use heat...

I think they did finally make a big bottle of this, but the packets are perfect for trying this out and only cost 1.50-1.99. So far it's been my fave DC. But deff try it with heat :)

Yeah I'm gonna give my Aussie away...

Heat definitely makes a difference because it opens up your cuticles and lets the good schtuff penetrate. I used to use platic caps with towels over my head but I actually got the idea to use the steam room from this forum. Haven't looked back since; like you said it does double duty: body detox and hair rehab all in one. Glad you found the missing link, enjoy your spa time! :)

:woot: Lexaking. There must be something in the air. I just started the conditioning/workout multitask thing. It does make the hair soft.

Cendra It DEFINITELY penetrated way better! Thanks

SuchaLady are you as in love with this DC as I am?! I can't wait to try the shampoo once I run out of my organix. Which one are you using? Is it also sulfate free?

MeowMix haha that smiley made me laugh! Yes it's an amazing way to kill two birds w/ one stone. Now if only I can work my way up to 15-20mins of sauna heat

Yes LexaKing I use the matching sulfate free shampoo and I hope they make this stuff forever because it's great. I have eczema of the scalp and it was only aggrevated by shampoo but this one does not even bother it at all.
