I got a colorful flier in the mail a few weeks ago and I'm interested. If the reviews are good, I'll go to the one in Buckhead since it's near my home.

I'm really concerned about the braid pattern. For those who have been, is it a flat firm braid that won't loosen after a week or so?

Hey,

I went the week of Christmas to get a full sew in (no hair left out) and I love it. I made sure to get the net so that it would last longer. I went to the location in Gwinnett off of Club Dr. I'm new to the forum and not sure how to upload pics. I will figure it out tonight and post them. The stylist that did my sew in, did my hair a while back when she was at another salon. That was the only reason I decided to go.

$50 is only if you get a partial sew in (leaving hair out)
$75 full sew in without net
$85 full sew in with net

I used the outre duby. Its in a bob hairstyle. Many people have thought it was my hair including my boyfriend.

Wow! That's great that you had a stylist whom you could vouch for!

I used to spend about $200 for really great sew-ins, but with the economy and the explosion of less expensive stylists on Craig's List, I thought I'd take the plunge!

I first saw the Outre Velvet Duby yesterday and am in love!!! It looks so realistic and what hooked me was that there is no cutting necessary! Hence, you can use the hair over and over!

Hi OP,

For full weaves (with or without net), they braid the front of your hair into 2 braids on each side and stop them right behind your ears. Then, they braid the rest of your hair going straight back. They'll connect them and or sew them down afterwards. The braids are firm and aren't that loose yet. (Service Date:12/27/09)

All in all, I give them a B+. My one beef is that my closure isn't sewn down flat. If you go to the Buckhead location, ask for Tiffany.

Really? I've been reading off list that the installs are on point but the braiding isn't that good. :ohwell: I work out a 4x/wk and sweat profusely out of my hair, plus I have 3-inch hair in some places (growing out a Rihanna-type cut)...my hair will be loose in a couple days. Dang.

What about this salon? I found it on Craig's List. She has a $70 sew-in where the client brings her own hair. I made an appointment for Friday. I'll post pics then.

just went to her website, she charges $125- $150 for sew ins as $70 for quickweaves.

Do you all use a net? If so, how do you get to your scalp well to wash?

Amanda did my sew in and she did a great job. I saw Tiffany there at the Gwinnett location (they were slammed the week of Christmas) and she does a good job.

Have you looked at the 3 girls and a needle salon? I started to go there but was on a budget. Not sure of their website as I just typed in 3 girls and a needle in google.

This was my first time getting a net to protect my hair underneath. It really depends on how close your tracks are. I made sure she only used one pack of hair because I didn't want it to look like a wig. Since she only used one pack, I can get to braids in between the tracks. Also, it cause less friction on my own hair. I don't have to worry about having the weave rubbing against the braids.

I went there for the first time the week before Christmas - bad idea- it was CRAZY packed!! I went to the Buckhead location and Shalonda was my stylist

Ive never had a full weave before so I have nothing to compare it to but from the compliments I've received I guess its ok!

Niiiice! What kind of hair did you use?

*Just checked* Really nice! $95's not bad either!

So, were you able to take care of the braided hair with the net? That's what I'm concerned about. I don't like a lot of hair on my head either.

I'm adding Three Girls and a Needle to the list.

I still have it in. I've washed it twice so far (just be really careful with washing, washed only the hair). I purchased an applicator bottle so that I can get to my scalp easier to keep it moisturized. Actually I have to moisturize it tonight then I'll post pics.

I know some people say to wash your scalp while having weave in, but my main concern is retaining moisture so there isn't breakage. I have natural hair so if I don't moisturize it become very dry. And shampoo can really dry your hair out. I use the CG method. I guess it depends on the hair.

Are you going to leave any hair out? I couldn't remember if you mentioned if you were natural or not.

Let us know if you decide to go to 3 girls and a needle. I'm curious to see their installs.

^^^ I'm going to leave some hair out. I'm relaxed.

A couple years ago, I came out of locs with SL natural hair and wore sew-ins for about six months. Didn't know about LHCF then and didn't take care of the hair underneath and my hair ended up brittle and fragile!

I had to cut it down to a pixie cut and I got it relaxed. Now I'll make sure to take care of the hair underneath. I'm going to use an applicator bottle for upkeep like you're doing.

their song had me laughing so hard. i remember seeing an add for them when i was up there last weekend. was wondering how a $50 weave would turn out. should have known the ladies of lhcf would know.

That intro song is amazing! haha I laughed so hard.. but I could groove to it. I've never gotten a weave in my life... but I'd def consider this for the price.

thx 4 the reviews ladies! i was considering the $50 shop but i will prolly go to 3 Girls & a Needle based off of their website pics (lovely) & i know one member here (sweetsuccess?) swears by them & her installs are always pretty & natural-looking.

I might consider them. I wish they had pictures of curly hair because I am natural and would like to have a curly install with some of my hair left out for a more natural looking install.

I would never go there again this use to be touched by an angel more like touched by the debil! i had horrible exp. with them. never again. still babying egdes and crown. google the old name 4 reviews

Oh Boy...I remember "Touched by an Angel"...Not for good things, either...Maybe they are under new management!

Maybe they changed their name from complaints and possible law suits. They were giving relaxers for 20. I remember watching a young girl (owners daughter) relax a young girls hair. she put it on most of the length and sat her down while she worked on other people. She had to have left that thing in for like 20 min. my eyes were WIDE SHUT!!! Never again I tell ya. I learned the hard way you get what you pay for. If its too good to be true...it is!

Oh yeah, I remember Touched by an Angel Salon. I didn't know this was the same salon.
