this is good stuff.... I will be doing this when I'm ready to take my braids out and detangle.. good stuff!

When I mix it with acv for my facials it doesn't clump...it just kind of puffs up and looks like frosting. Try it with acv for your face, it's amazing.

I only mix it with water for my hair and I always have lots of clumps...I just put those on my hair too. They rinse out with no problems.

I will try it. I put the lumps in there too but I don't want too lol. I want it to be smooth and pretty.

I will try it with out the ACV next time. I didn't know Bentonite would work on my hair. I initially bought it for body wraps and facials. So I was just using the same mix I used for my facials.

It's great you found something that works for you. I've talked about bentonite a little bit on here (and so have some other naturals) and I think we all agree that it's a great addition to a regimen. I don't need to mix it with anything else but water and I leave it on for about two hours max (usually just one hour though but I tend to do 2 treatments a month).

It makes my hair easier to comb through and as a result I get much less breakage. It doesn't eradicate the breakage situation completely though; I still need to use protein when necessary.

I tried it with the ACV and msa you are right. It is smooth and frothy. I think I will use a lil ACV in it next time i use it with my hair too. And I will try ACV in my henna too. I like a smooth texture. It just looks and applies better.

I also noticed that it doesn't sting and pinch as much. I can't wait to see what my face looks like when I rinse it off.

BlkO, I wanted to let you know that I tried this same formulation you suggested (with the addition of conditioner) and I left it in my hair for about 2 to 3 hours. It was truly the truth! :yep:

I want to know the benefits of using it as a body wrap? and how do you do this?

I rinsed my face and it felt raw and dry and looked dull. It didn't have that glow. Next time I will use ACV and Water and see what happens. If that doesn't work It's back to the clumpy water.

I don't know why my face feels so raw right now. It's soft to the touch but it's kinda stinging.

I was interested in doing body wraps because they make you lose an inch or two where ever you apply the wrap.

You make a paste with ACV, Water and Bentonite Clay. Wrap it in suran wrap and leave it on. I did it one night and left it on all night
I did lose 2 inches off my waist! It'a not perminant I think you have to do it weekly for long term results, But if you have an item of clothing You want to wear that's a little snugg this could help.

I just did a Google "body wraps" and got all kinds of info:grin:

I did it again last night after my Aphogee 2 min reconstructor Protein treament, and balance moisterizer. My hair was wet
this time
My mix was
Bentonite Clay
Shea Butter Cream Conditioner
MTG
and
Cayenne Pepper ( the heat from the cayenne was nice)!

Anyway this morning, after I rinsed it out, I was able to detangle with my fingers and put my hair in box braids.

i did add a lot of Aphogee Leave in Condition to each section. but I have never been able to finger detangle without getting frustrated and reaching for a wide tooth comb or brush

When you rinse it out, can it irritate the eyes or skin?

It shouldn't. Well, I don't get it in my eyes though. But it's just clay and if you mix it with water I don't see why it would irritate your skin.

Do you have to shampoo your hair after rinsing this out?

No bentonite is considered a clarifier. As long as you rinse it thoroughly and get it all off your scalp there's no need for shampoo.

Do you have to shampoo your hair after rinsing this out?

I mixed mine with water, shikiaki sp? powder, and alma oil last weekend and I needed to shampoo after. It may be because of the oil or the fact that my hair is always oily. I don't shampoo often but use oil after my co-washes everyday.

Y'all just make sure you're not letting the clay dry on your hair...put on a plastic cap. Otherwise, you will be in breakage city trying to get the clay out once it has hardened.

MSA aint never lied. when i first started doing any type of mask on my hair (bentonite, rhassoul, cassia) i was letting it dry. just getting the mask out, let alone detangling is almost unfathomable.

I need to retry Bentonite Clay. Also most very cheap kitty litter is 100% Bentonite clay. You can google it if you don't believe me. It is like $4.00 or less for 3 lbs or something ridiculously cheap.

But you will need to have a strong blender or grinder to make the pellets into a powder. Also make sure that you don't inhale the dust whether you grind it yourself or buy it. HTH
