This site is WONDERFUL!!! I've found so many helpful solutions..thank you all!

My dilemma... I am 4a/b almost brastrap length. My daily routine is the problem. I don't use heat (other than flat ironing once a week after shampoo/cond and airdrying) So I've got this layered long hair that just hangs there. Does wearing it out everyday dry it out too much? I sleep with a profective moisturizer and satin cap. I also use a moisturizer spray if it gets too dry. I would like to know a method other than wrapping and hotcurling that can jazz me up a little. I used the steam curlers but didn't like the results. Updo's look funky on me.

Am i asking too much? Thanks

Welcome to the site! You have certainly come to the right place, the ladies here are knowledgeable and helpful. I myself am barely at collar bone but I'm sure all the other bra-strap (aaaah) length ladies of which there are many will help.

Well me personally I love rinses especially jazzing cherry cola. Anyway Since I cant roller set to save my life I wet wrap. Eventhough I have to sit under the dryer for 2 hours it is worth it. My hair has body to it (not too much which is what I usually get with rollers) and it has a nice framing bend. I love oil sheen (isoplus. nice and cheap) When i wet wrap I spray it after i have been under the dryer for atleast 15 min then again after another 40 and then as much as needed. I wash my hair every 4-5 days. and i mainly use shampoo for my scalp only. If my hair has build up I'll use clarifying shampoo on my hair. But I have noticed that my hair doesn't really like shampoo but luvs conditioner (so of course I had to listen to it). Another thing that makes my hair fall nice is that I trim my ends as needed!!! That means that I'm cutting off very very very very very little. (If u always trim you'll never see growth). oh yeah and i make sure my ends are constantly oiled because if they are dry then my hair looks a mess, HTH.

Sjarman, you didn't say if your hair is relaxed or natural. I'm assuming relaxed? If so, I have to recommend the bun idea by Adrienne, one of the loveliest heads of hair around. She has pictures and instructions for doing a healthy bun at this link: http://www.picturetrail.com/adrienne0914
If you can find the thread "Paging Adrienne" or just do a search on her name, you're bound to find some of her advice on managing and caring for hair. And once you see her hair, you'll know she knows what she's talking about.
