My question to you girls is what do you use to make your hair more manageable? I use the "Afro detangler" but I just want to see if there are more things out there or techniques that can help me out.

I love homemade spritzes. They are the only thing that truly softens my hair... and my daughter's hair, as well. Avocado oil, distilled water, and olive oil. I also love Hollywood Olive Creme on damp hair, then I spritz it with this mixture. It's amazing! Curls Milkshake is pretty good, too.

when i was natural s curl worked GREAT for me. it really softened up my hair and im a coarse 4b.

I second that. It's the ONLY moisturizer that I have fallen in love w/ since my BC and my re-introduction to using leave-ins. I LOVE this stuff:

But I don't notice its effect on the first day after a wash. It's on day 2 or when I apply to dry hair that it really brings out the best in my hair. Every other products feels good on initial application but dries to a coarseness I don't like. Not S Curl. Dries to a softness I can't rave enough about.

I love the products from Qhemet Biologics. Especially the pomades. They are like grease but made without petroleum or mineral oil.

The only thing that has ever worked for me is Qhemet Biologics Heavy Cream, I haven't purchased any in awhile but I see that I will have to know, because it is the only thing that keeps my hair soft & moist, My hair does not like Glycerin or Shea Butter or those Homemade Conditioner Spritz, I tried them all LOL!!!! Several Times LOL!!!!

But I am in a Twa so that might change as my hair gets longer.

Con Wash=Conditioner Wash meaning you use Conditioner instead of shampoo.

Brownskin2 I never thought to use castor oil, But My hair really don't like direct oils but I never tries that on wet hair & I hear alot of good things about Castor oil.

I'm loving Qhemet Biologics as well. I use her heavy cream, olive oil & honey balm. I also use Care Free Curl Gold & castor oil.

Good luck on finding something that works for you. Qhemet's is no joke.

I believe European customers can get Qhemet products from Mariposa Import

I'm in love with Qhemet's Sidr Tree Butter Balm....my hair is so soft and moisturized whenever I use it. The Olive and Honey balm is good too. Castor oil is amazing when I use it on my damp hair.

Shampooing with Creme of Nature, conditioning with Aussie Moist, and moisturizing with distilled water and/or BB Oil Hair Lotion w/ Castor Oil & Aloe keeps my hair soft. Currently, I've been wearing fat twistouts and re-twisting each night into 10 fat twists with the BB Oil Hair Lotion and my hair has never been so soft. I ocassionally wear a wash-n-go puff and use the exact same products and my hair is just as soft! I love these products!

Definitely Co washing with ultradoux de garnier au lait de vanille and Elsève soin crème alpha jojoba+ my homemade moisturizer!

Does the S-curl smell bad? Like the activators back in the day? I just remember them cutting my breath.
It doesn't smell bad to me; but if you didn't like activators back then, you may not like it. Hawaiian Silky Miracle Worker 14-in-1 has a fruity smell and works just as well as S-Curl on my hair; I'm just partial to S-Curl because it was my first love. I do use HS though every now and then.

When my hair is barely damp/almost dry, I saturate it with either stay-sof-fro or s curl moisturizer and twist it up in four big twists. The product dries overnight and my hair is really moist and soft until my next condish-wash.
