Im ready for this challenge. I have been using surge for 2 weeks now and my only problem is that it gives me dry scalp. How can I fix that problem? I am currently sporting braids

plzgrow, I don't know for sure, but I would say two things might help. One, to come as close to washing the scalp as often as possible, either by using tea tree oil (I think) or sea breeze. Two, after Surging, wait awhile, then follow with jojoba oil. This regimen would remove the Surge build-up and combat the dry scalp. Now, my disclaimer...this is coming from someone who has worn braids exactly once :ohwell:, but based on what I've read, I think this might solve the problem. HTH :).

I've edited to add on additional names. The list should be complete now :).

Please add me to the list!! I am definitely in on this

I haven't been consistent with Surge in the past, and I'm dying to find out what type of results I'd get if I were to be consistent for 30 days,

Thanks Dreems!
SG

Keylargo: I haven't, but I've read posts where people had...I don't see how it could hurt :).

SG: Added...I am anxious to see everyone's results, also.
Happy Surging, everyone :D !

Peachtree...first, your daughter's hair is just beautiful! Ok, that said :D, I don't know if you'd want to order it online or not, but if you still can't find it tomorrow and you want to, here is a link to order some. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/paynesbeautysupply-salon/suharepl14.html

Good luck!

I would definitely like to join this challenge. I gave myself a touchup this morning and hope that I can start surging this weekend without having any hair drama. I plan to start condition washing every other day and surge 2x a day. I have a regular camera (haven't gotten around to purchasing a digital camera yet) but I will use it to take pictures every week so I can see my growth. When I get it together I will post some pics.

Count me in! I've had Surge forever, but I haven't been anywhere near consistent in using it. I started today...I'll still wash my hair once or twice a week (daily washing tends to hurt my hair more than help it) and I will follow my surging up with my homemade Sulfur 8/Glovers Mane/Surge cream to combat dryness. I'll use that as needed...makes my head feel soooo nice and cool...the tingles aren't bad either. I'll combine this challenge with the SuperGrowOut Challenge and post pics (before and after) in my Fotki Journal...great idea Dreems!

Hugs,
Crys

Count me in! I am rocking corn rows and I am trying to Surge twice a day while i am in these bad boys....have to meet my goal fro this year!

Thanks ladies...added :)! Anyone who joins hereafter--I won't make an additional post, but I will definitely add you to the list :).

Dreemsold.......Add me to the list...This is one of my 1 million Jan 1 New Years Resolutions........ I even took pictures so that when I start another New Years Resolution....you know the one to create a Fotki Account.....I can give an update. :lachen:

please count me in! I havent been consistent with surge either and would like to know the results if I were. Every time Id start I would get dry itchy scalp and would stop. But I will try concentrating on oiling/moisturizing it afterwards. Im not sure how often Ill wash, anywhere from 2-3 days a week most likely. I have a little more than half a bottle which should last the month and if I like it Ill repurchase.

Its so hard for me to find time for myself! Im in nursing school and thats my whole life(Ive been on the boards my whole christmas break!). This year I want to lose weight, get fit, grow my hair...all while reaching graduation in the fall! arggghh! I hope I can find time to squeeze all these things in between studying.

I relaxed my hair on Sunday (1/2/05), when would be a good time for me to start using Surge? I read a while back on the board that it might not be a good idea to use Surge right after a relaxed. I don't remember the reason and I can't seem to find the thread. TIA

I usually wait 2 weeks before starting to surge and stop a week before its time for a relaxer.

I wait a week with no adverse effects, but of course, everyone's hair is different. However long you wait, I'd suggest doing a small test area in the back first. Also, everyone has been added :).

Thanks dear! I finally found it... at Walgreens on the east side... I totally over looked that one! I'm gonna start my spraying tonight :trampolin:

The directions say to spray on scalp *after* pooing. Well, I've tweek'd my regimen to avoid poos... I CW, but not everyday. I hope that I'm still able to gain some type of growth :ohwell: ...

Peachtree, I think you will gain just as much growth. I think the washing is just to prevent any adverse effects the Surge could potentially cause (dry and/or flaky scalp), but if you don't experience those things--and I don't think most do, I wouldn't sweat it ;).

I've added everyone else who joined :)...Happy Surging!

Has anyone else noticed a "high gloss" left behind after spraying Surge? This spray is alllllllright in my book
